Husaberg is getting more and more serious. They are flying in Joakim to race in Vegas this Saturday night. I wonder if Clay is going to run the Husaberg pits out of the Sprinter? :D

To my Euro compadres, does Joakim have any experience in Endurocross? I know some of the tests in WEC have become pretty extreme, but Endurocross is pretty specialized. I can't see him running with Taddy, but will he at least qualify for the main? Even that is pretty hard to do with all the fast specialists running this series.

At any rate, even though I won't be there I'll be rooting for him.

well he didn't look that good there, he screwed up like most riders in a way that made you cry. given their skills they all kept making the same mistakes. the husaberg is a very heavy bike to be dragging around there but he did make excellent gates.

trials isn't a big sport in the USA otherwise you's see them at the front like we did. best bike is a 125 2T for sure.

taddy is the daddy!

Got to stick up for Joakim here , ie'd like to see you get round one of them tracks taff, first time out on a heavy berg he did ok in my books

everyone was buggering up except the front boys. he's a pro and i didn't think he was special.

I don't know what the details were, but Ljunggren didn't make the main at the Vegas Endurocross. Ricky Dietrich put Taddy on the ground during a pass, went on to win, and cost Taddy a 50k bonus.

geez, Taffy, you always gotta stir the poop. From what I've seen of the endurocross game, experience is just about more important than skill. Obviously RD wanted to use a few more skills to beat Taddy...than Taddy wanted to use...and Joakim not making the show, I also think the US vesion is significantly more aggressive than what he experienced in Sheffield. Still to bad he missed it, but don't for a minute think the man is weak.

DezDuster and I were there last night. I thought Joakim was a very strong and dynamic rider although he did not make the final event. He got some bad breaks but that is what racing is about. Joakim won the night racing event, by a tremendous margin. We should expect great things from Joakim!!!!

All good points as usual. The Vegas track looked even more technical than usual, I think they wanted to really put on a good show. Joakim winning the night race for all the non qualifiers to the main was making the best of his situation. I think he did great.

Rumor is that Taddy had a rather animated converstation with Dietrich in the pits after the race. Last year it was Taddy that cost Knight the 50k, and this year it happened to Taddy. Funny how that happens.

Something tells me that in Trials (Taddys background) you don't have to worry about getting T-boned in the first corner by a motocrosser-turned-Endurocross rider. 8O

Good to see some discussion on racing in here. Several times I will post up things related to racing and there won't be any replies.

same here john. racing makes me tick and it's a shame there isn't more chit-chat on it. we are at the end of the day though quite a parochial bunch and racing in one area is irrelevant to another let alone nation or continent.

Hi Taff...good to see you don't hold much on me for teasing you!!!

THere was a day when there was no berg racing, except WEC, for us to bicker about, now too much.. I know I dion't get much chatter about my cgrt stuff...and I guess I'm as guilty as any for not commnting to your posts as well.

I wish I were there, to not only cheer on Joakim, but my buddies, Cory and Bobby as well. Cory is going to Genoa in a couple weeks ? for the endurocross there. I hope its easier for him to adapt to teh open tracks than it was for Joakim to adapt to the tighter tracks here.

cheers

this is a relatively new class and the bikes clearly aren't the right design for it. they need a hybrid that leaves the rider standing on a trials enduro bike. i described to arkley that i've had in my head for 3 or so years.

being a good MX doesn't make you a good SX and so the same will be said in this sport. watch for a hybrid in the next season or so. it'll be from a manufacturer if there is a commercial future in it or it'll be private if there isn't. then after a season or so - THEN it'll come from the works teams and then be a commercial viability.

my idea involved no seat, a subframe that's changed to pencil thin and then the good bit - a ducks bill pointing backwards from about halfway up the tank. the rider would sit on this at the corners and rather like the barman's 'flap' in the bar counter: it would lift if your knee/thigh area tapped it.
