A previous discussion about jetting and whats better, experiment for yourself or buy a kit got a little out of hand. I would much rather buy one of Dales kits and get jetting right in one swoop than ride a bike that doesnt run like it should and waste time. I would like to buy a kit for an 06 650 I hope to recieve pretty soon. I would like to have jetting close right out of the box.

Strangely enough the controversial thread stimulated considerable interest and as a result I sold five kits. One International end user and four to US dealers.

Seems as though I have shot myself in the leg as now I must cut more metering rods. The profit margin is so slim (labor intensive) I actually feel as though I am losing money on the long end.

What have I learned from all of this:
Choose your battles wisely and be very careful with what you wish for.

Go figure. :?

Kind Regards,
Dale

PS
Thank you for the support Wooleyberger.

Dale,
Maybe you should purchase a CNC lathe or retrofit your manual lathe with one. I bet it would help with your "production" runs. :D

well my take is the bike is lean stock, Dan at motoxotica richened up the needle one clip, changed out the pj from 38 to 48 and dropped the main jet to 178.

the bike runs good clean and crisp. I expect Dale's kit will run even better. Today at 25 hours now on the bike, I am surprized how much more hit there is down low now. For the first time, it's been cold, I had opened the FS more, but I noticed a bit of flutter in fast on off throttle, so I screwed back in my FS a turn..then I had a touch of engine brake popping....I let the screw out again and the poping went away but the flutter on sharp throttle open was there.....so maybe I have rode the bike enough to notice a bit of funky jetting...just a touch.

So long story short.... I found the money and am now ready for your Lineaweaver special deluxe No 1 Jet kit for my 06 Fe450e. I run at 4000 ft and California temps.

Dale I can't find your home e-mail. I want to come by and see your shop , pick up the jet kit and well since I'll be there maybe if it's not to much to ask I'll pay you some labor too - help me install your kit as I think I read you want to remove the AC pump or something too with your KIT?

So I'm ready when you are.

My home e mail is: [email protected]

let me know when I can come by. would like to do it before Christmas if you have a metering rod ready for me. and I need an address so I can map quest it.

thanks Bob

Hi Big Bob,
If you remove and bring the carburetor, I will be happy to install said kit, while you wait, free of charge.

If you are so inclined you may even snap a few pictures, I truly do not mind.

PS
Phone ahead for directions and time. No walk ins as I keep irregular hours.

Thanks Dale.

Pulled my carb off and made a quick trip to see the Jedi Master Lineaweaver himself in person tonight. He taught me about his kit....really more of a modification then a kit. That was fun watching him talk to me while breezing thru this mod he has worked out on my carburetor.

I'll post a ride report and Lineaweaver jetting mod review later this week, when I get a good ride in.
