Hello,

I've purchased a secondhand JD Jetting EFI tuner
But there are no papers with it (installation and tuning instructions)
Does anyone have those papers?
I've already asked JDJetting, but they are not responding to my mails...

Thanks

damn, sorry to hear that ... afaik jd used to be good at answering, sorry to hear that's sliding

Afaik at least a couple of people here had these boxes and liked how easy it was working with them so we should be able to get you up and running even without the manuals, let's hope

JD used my 570 as his R&D bike to get his settings. He had access to a 390 and a 450 but did not yet get ahold of a 570. This was in '10.

Im sorry I do not still have the paper work. He set my "base line" setting for 2000ft-5000ft. On his dyno it did not produce anymore HP, however the bike ran very crisp and it never coughed or flamed out again. So, worth the time, money and effort to get it dialed in.

I will see him on the 3rd, and will ask for you. But, hopefully someone else pulls through before then!!

I was tempted to buy one last year, but not sure I would want too now.

Or will a dyno tune really tune it in for a few more HP?

I remember JD telling me the seat, or essentially the air box cover was a major culprit.

On his dyno, with the seat REMOVED and his tuner recalibrated to compensate for the increased intake, the 570 gained 3-4 HP. Perhaps there is a thread on here for "hollowing out" the seat or the like?

But still, aside from a lack of major increase in power, I couldn't believe how clean it started and ran, and the crisp "snappier" throttle response.

someone on the giant 70deg thread did a quite good airbox hole w/ flap for when it rains

and yeah i expected more snap out of the 570 as stock ... it is a beautifully quiet bike though. but i do love the intake noise! aggressive yet refined

IIRC when I had mine dyno'd the seat was worth 1 hp without tuning.

DaleEO and others have drilled/trimmed the top edge of the radiator scoops and had good results.

I think codemonkey did his and made a fairly comprehensive thread about it.

Is there any advance to first instal the Akra mapping before installing the JDJetting box?

Does the mapping change anything else accept the "jetting"??

Probably not worth it if you intend to change the settings with the JD tuner.
Looks like its fuel adjustment only on the JD website.

!

This is the problem i am having..coughing down low which translates to a surge and occasionally a backfire out the exhaust which i think is the bike flaming out or running lean at around 3/4 throttle. Thinking very seriously of trying a JD Tuner but am not sure how or where is the best place to mount it..there doesn't seem to be much info around on it for the 570.
