Ok, here is the story of my rear tank.
I purchased it off of a friend of mine, also a member of the forums, and used it for a little while. Quickly i noticed that the tank had some issues due to my abuse. First of all the plastic threads on the sides are crap. A couple of falls and the threads get flattened. Also i noticed a tiny leak at the back of the tank, in one of the horns.
I decided to fix these issues seeing as I ride my Husaberg in the Polish Baja Rally Cup.
These Plastic mending "experts" have destroyed my tank completly.... They wanted to start with drilling out the rest of the threads, but somehow the drilled right through the tank wall... ... .. and offered to pay for a new one... :))))
Later I have asked this guy who works at Henkel Glues for help, and he has tried all the glues that could possibly work with XLPE and are on the european market. He made these threaded caps that he glued on. At best one of these caps lasted for 2 days riding...
Finally I have found this older guy who lives next to Kracow in Poland and decided that the tank cant be more damadged by now so he might as well give it a shot. He found a way to plastic-weld the whole thing. So after a a year of trying to get the tank fixed (and after running out of petrol on one of the rally liaisons) the tank has worked at two rallies without an issue and on all the trainings that went with them. Apparently he fixes/welds airplane tanks and even KTM950 tanks :)
If anyone has this issue and needs a translator to Polish give me a PM.

well done mate!1 excellent effort. I had a leak in my 2009 tank and tried everything.....nightmare!

Taffy,

Did you manage to fix it in the end? If not I think it could be easily arranged :)

no, I had to give in in the end. it was a warped entry to the tank through the square hole. it had buckled for no obvious reason.
