Just got back from Cascade locks located on the Columbia River in Oregon.....Wow....a very gnarly track....great fun.....
My new 550 blew me away !!!! once I threw away the Michelins and bent on some slicks, got the suspension to where it wasn't chattering me into trees and concrete walls or the river the real fun started....The engine is still tight and I am learning the berg ways, but my oh my does this bike rip !!!! remember I got off a 60 hp at the ground KX 500.....
I was almost in tears for joy at how fast the Berg is.......I was backing off the throttle (14/42 ) coming up on fully built 525 SMR's on the straights....so a 46 and 48 rear sprocket will be perfect, when I had the stock rear tire I was actually lighting it up outa corners with both feet up....never have I done this ever before, the power is so intense and smooth it felt so predictable....the engine revs like a two stroke...I learned more in one day on suspension tuning...good gawd so much adjustment...I will post more after the next two weekends as I have two events coming up !!!! The bike went to my tech this afternoon to do some major work..... The bike pulls so much harder than the 650 its really amazing....
I'm very jazzed about this new section and will do my best to help moderate.....
So the KX 500 goes by by and I'm gonna get me a 550 enduro for off road  So anyone comes up to me and makes a wise crack about Husaberg's is gonna get a Fat lip  Wish I bought a Berg alot sooner !!!!!

Ah, a new convert slips into the fold! Bitten by the Berg. :D

That 501 by the way rips as well......Husaberg convert, you bet ....got the banner and shirt to prove it.....you know you are in good hands when a guy walks up to you in Husaberg blue shorts and husaberg shirt ready to load your bike and take it away for service....gotta love that ! :D

ciao BrianSM,
great to hear Your joy !

I got back from Misano track Sunday, and got exhausted in a 35 C weather....
My FS650E2002 worked perfectly (totally has over 4200 kms, yesterday over 100kms on a track) and what a day it was.
Some changes made which made recently to a quite stock bike.
I have raised handle bars 1,5 cm. Now I get more closer to the frontand can keep the elbows out better. Much better handling in brakings.
I put 45 rear sprocket. 15 in front. Pulls out great but with 150 rear lacks a bit grip.
Susp. comp.front is thight, rear comp is full with 84-250 spring.
Tires are Michelin Power Race Soft.

Later.

35 Cel. holy cow HOT.......100 F........even a 160 rear slick worked so much better than the Mich's I couldn't keep my rear hooked up at all....I'll start a thread on suspension I wanna ask you a couple things Ciao Piason

I'm close with the suspension now, I'm 90 mm laden sag and 18 mm static
what a difference it makes, I slowed the rebound down quite a bit as well, which helps alot.......so a bit more fussing and I'm finally feeling comfortable with dragging pegs......no more high speed wobble.....I've got a 13,14,15 primary sprocket with a 42 and a 45 toothe rear.......so its a great starting point......I tried flat tracking my KX500 last year and didn't really have much fun :( I took the Berg out on a flat track last night with my SC-1 rains, 20 PSI at both ends with the compression taken down at the front, dam.....its a short track, 14/42 gearing stayed in second all the time, up on the high side at the shrould and leaned her hard over, the bike actually backs in quite nicely and power slides with easy controlled exits ......I had alot of fun......the bike runs perfect and handles like a dream......by far the best bike I've ever ridden.....I'm gonna see If they will let me race with the big boys tonight  That is If no other tards show up.....
cheers !
