day 2
quite short from me. someone who did some riding better cover that bit.
but suzanne and richard leant me a car. he is a director of the islands Renault, peugeot and bmw dealership.
suzanne told me if i get stopped just tell em im on a test drive and know richard.
went to douglas and was most confused when i couldn't find the start of the TT. always thought it was on the sea front when actually its on a hill at the top of town.
well there was nothing open in Douglas as it was a sunday so decided to do the tourist thing and drive around the TT course taking random photos whilst steering with my knee.
as i drove into Parliment square in Ramsey, what do i see but a load of husabergs parked out from of the fish & chip shop. take about bad timing.
so i stopped and we had a group photo as some chips.
the lads then went off and i continued on my lap of the tt.
how the riders race around this on bikes. it gives me more respect for those that do now. id happliy do fast in a car as theres a bit of protection when it goes wrong.
anyway after my not so flying lap, average speed 42 mpg, went and got some pressies for the wife, by which time the wrist was starting to throb so it was back to the house.
cant remember sunday night, pain killers were good, but trip home the next day went fine with gruntenburg and jim helping me to load the bike in the car and dad helping me unload it the other end.
only yesterday 4 wks later have i actualy fettled the bike, straightened everything and generally sorted it out.
all in all an enjoyable weekend. only slightly dampened by the fact that the riding was not different enough from what i have at home.
as richard our landlord, who has been to my area several times agreed, the riding was just like my place with less trees.
but with a gang for a weekend away its a laugh.
