I apologize if this is readily available information here, but I first did a search on the FE350, another on the posts pertaining to top end reassembly, and thoroughly searched the available downloads here (after downloading all the workshop manuals listed).

Right after I got the FE350, the master link on the cam chain failed, causing a couple of bent valves. We have replaced the damaged parts (bent exhaust valves, worn valve guides (Thanks Motoxotica!), cam chain guide and sprockets, and piston rings. Now, we need to install the cam chain. I want to make damn sure that this is done correctly, and my mechanic is unfamiliar with Husaberg top ends.

I need to know if the design of the '94 engine will be the same, and use the same procedure as shown in the '99 workshop manuals.
( and also in this post: http://tinyurl.com/co6b82 )

I showed that post to my mechanic, and he said that on my '94 FE350, the cam lobes were pointed up. Reading the above linked post, I thought he might have the engine on the wrong stroke, but won't get a chance to check this until later today. So... I thought I would ask you all. I need a more detailed instruction from a starting point, to make sure
we get this done right.
My main question is as to whether the '99 service manual works for the '94 FE350. (I don't see the 350 listed at the front of the manual, and being slightly anal retentive about such things, just had to ask. :? )

Thank you all in advance.

The fellow's problem in this thread from 2006 illustrates our problem exactly. http://tinyurl.com/cs234e
Is there any further information posted to the site?

Since the timing chain let go, we were not able to just mark and pay attention to how things were before we disassembled the engine.

Thanks!

Jim

I don't understand I can't attach the file.
If you think the parts manual will help or the owners manual, send me your email, and I will send you.

RE: Parts Manual 89-96

Hi there Zaga,

If you want to send it to me, I'll make it available both in this thread and in the downloads.

ZAGA and schwim,
Thank you very very much. :thumb:
I have downloaded everything on the downloads page, but haven't found the exact information I need.
The '99 head/cam is different than the older ones; so the '99 manuals don't have the the desired info. My head & cam looks just like the one in the photos that the other Jim posted back in 2006. (linked above in the previous post)

There is a great attitude on this site. Kudos to you all!

Speaking of the "Downloads" page; I saw three pages linked, with 27 total downloads listed. All three pages (as my browser gave them to me) have the exact same downloads available. Are there actually 27 different downloads?

I have a Husaberg CD that my friend gave me with my FE350. As soon as I figure out how to upload the files to the site, I will share them.

The list of files on my Husaberg cd:
One is a owner's manual for the '89-'96 models.
Another is the '89-'96 parts manual.
Another is the 2000 model parts manual.
Another is the '99 service manual broken down into 49 scans, which are gif files.
Another is a jpeg file of the '97 FE400 wiring diagram.
Another is a jpeg file of the "Elduro US Models". (Elduro? I figure they meant Enduro.)
Another is a jpeg file of the "Elduro Non-US Models".
And, the last file is an owner's report on the '02 FE400E, written by David Lloyd.

Would any of these be a welcome addition to the downloads page?

Since I am new here at Husaberg.org, I might as well tell all ya'll a bit about myself.

I am a 56 year old dirt bike addict and singletrack junkie. I have to have a fix at least every 7 to 14 days. (If I wait too long between rides, my wife will tell me that i need to go riding. :D )
I'm one of those crusty old pharts that you see at every race and trail ride. I may not be as fast as I once was, but I can still hang, and I love it just as much as I ever did.

I live in South Arkansas, USA, and have been riding motorcycles since I was 9 years old.
I have been a member of the Arkansas Dirt Riders since '98, and help with our annual Bear Creek hare scramble and TrainRobbers Enduro (June 14th, sanctioned by SERA, BJEC, & TSCEC).

I am also a member of the Breezy Hills Dirt Riders (Dry Prong, LA), and have been working with them for 19 years.

I used to race enduros or hare scrambles 43 -46 weekends a year. Now, I limit most of my "serious" competition to the AHRMA National Cross Country series. (Post Vintage +50 Int. class.) I finished 3rd in my class in the US in 2007 on my 1982 Husky XC250, but this year I am just competing in the ISDT Qualifier "sub series" of that series.

I am married and have five grown children; and 10 grandchildren. I'm really lucky in that four of my children still ride and race with me, and four of my grandchildren ride with me. The oldest, at nine, started racing last summer on his CRF70.
At the end of this month, another granddaughter will turn 3. There is a brand new CRF50, set up with wheels4tots training wheels installed, sitting at my shop waiting on her birthday. :D

From fall of 1997 until June of 2006, my sons and I operated Smackover Motor Sports; a GasGas dealership and off-road race shop. If any of you all need any GasGas off-road information or resources, let me know. I still have my parts books & information for GasGas EC/XC/DE models and Quads from 1995 through 2006.

If anyone wants to contact me directly, shoot me an email, either through this web site, or at dirtbike_smackover "at" yahoo "dot" com .

Good Riding and Wrenching!

RE: Re: Parts Manual 89-96

jim, the elduro was an enduro with electric start. clever, these swedes.
"And, the last file is an owner's report on the '02 FE400E, written by David Lloyd" i don't know about the credibility of this guy, tho. i think he's some kind of a limey politician

I thinkk you have a very good bike, it is really light and I don't think husabergs have been able to hold there head up as a light bike for a while. The 99 workshop manual should cover everything, but I suggest you get hold of a husqvarna manual as that helps a lot. I am talking about the 83 to 89 four stroke manual it is really good if you can get it. Also the tools from those early huskies are exact fits to your bike mosly. The model you have is an advanced version of the huskies, it is just compressed. The delorto is great but you need to replace the flat slide when they wear and the jets etc. The rear suspension was really bad and you need to sort out the spring and gets some things done to that. If it was an 83 model I might have a new sticker kit for it somewhere?
