have separated oil like in the New KTM, transmition and engine?

I like that on the new KTM, is much more environmental friendly¡¡¡¡

I all ready try looking into the husaberg.com, specifications all it says is Pressure lubrication with 2 oil pumps, does that mean separated.

Cheers

I don't recall this in any of the press briefings. I believe it did say however that one of the oil pumps was specifically designated to scavenge the oil from the crank area. So that indicates that the "reed" is probably gone on this design.

I'll go back through that thread and make sure.

From the press release:

A pressure pump provides reliable all the essential components such as the crankshaft, piston and valve train with lubricating oil, while a suction pump excess oil from the cylinder head back to the gear heads. Only one more oil filter facilitates the service.

Guess the reed still might be there.

Like on dad's old english bike he had in the fifties. One oil volume for the motor, one oil volume for the gear box, one oil volume for the primary transmission chain.

I think I saw somwhere that one pump in the 09 motor drained the cylinder head and the other one was used for lubrication of the engine.

Is the reed valve such a bad idea really?

my question is the oil is separated in different baffles?

Sure doesn't look like it. Looks like the tranny and engine oil will be shared, which like you said is diiferent from the new KTM design. Maybe I am blind, but I don't see two seperate oil filler caps avywhere on the new Husaberg.

If you look at the press launch for the 09 it says there is only one oil filter.

Is the divorced oil system on all the new KTM's or just one range of them?

for what I know and I had seen myself in the new 450 comes divorced¡¡¡

I think I found another thing that I do not like about the new Husa,

1. no Kick start
2. no separated oil

cheers

On my 06 KTM 450, one oil pump lubricates the engine and second scavenges the crankcase. Scavenge pump dumps lubricant onto tranny gears. I think 09 Berg is using same system with valve cover also draining into scavenge pump. Just deductive reasoning never seen inside one. Oil isn't separated.
