Interchangeability of plastics 1999-2000

Hello Everyone,
I am new here i just have a quick question as i have just bought a 1999 TE 501 Husaberg ... While i am in ore of the this great bike.. I was wondering if the plastics, fuel tank and seat where interchangeable from the 2000 model..

as I'm aware no - sorry! :cry:

the 2000 despite being the last year of the old engine went to the new chassis that with just a small alteration saw Husaberg through to 2008.

Any one know a source for plastic for a 97/98 501 ? It has UFO on it but looks pretty rough.

just a forwarning, the side number plates are not the same from 97-98, they appear different but look like they will work, but the bolt holes that hold it to the from are off by an inch or so, i beleive that the rear fender will swap out, and I think that the tank and side sheilds will work too but havnt tried them yet. I bought a complete set of some used/some new old stock plastics, i only know the thing about the number plates for sure yet, like i said the rest look like they will work but so did the number plates untill you try to put them on.

There have been a few that managed to fit the one piece rear guard and side covers from a later bike to a pre 2000. Looked OK in the pics at the time, not sure how much work, maybe just a few bits of strap to move some holes, but shouldn't be too difficult. Probably pics in the gallery, somewhere?

Front guard and headlight are pretty much universal. Tank and shrouds are however not very interchangeable.

Sounds Great i would like to see that !!! do you know if you can fit front and rear guards?

Youn can do whatever you put you mind to :wink: .....if you have welder...or no budget :lol: front fenders are the same for husaberg an ktm for a long time period, not sure which guards you mean...

Well im not sure what the proper name is but I'm referring to the plastics ether side of the seat and the rear mud guard (What else could i be talking about? :roll: )

I dont know fork guards, radiator guards, disc brake guard, under engine guard, stator guard, chain guard?

I thought we already knew your question from steve:

ktm and berg fenders and headlight mask are pretty much universal (if it looks the same it probably works)

tank and radiator shrouds are out of the question (which also likely rules out the seat by obvious design), people have made the rear side/tail plastics work but probably wont bolt right up

the lower half of the lower black 2-piece shock/mudguard would work for sure, not positive if the upper half of it is exactly the same, i got a 2003 upperhalf and it wouldnt work on mine without some modification, the lower half bolted right in and i think is the same *or very close to* from 1997-2008ish.
