I just received my fan kit for the big berg. The instructions shows some fan mounting screw inserts pushed through the radiator. I am assuming that they went between the fins. My radiator doesn't have any holes for the screw inserts. Do the newer radiators have them? Or am I suppose to push the fins aside and make a hole?

Yes the newer radiators have pre made holes and yes you can push the fins aside and make a hole.

Q. Is it even possible to fit a fan on the -04? Isn't the tank to o close to the radiator?

The factory tank has room. The clark tank has lots and lots of room.

Yes. The 2006 and newer bikes have the mounts in them already. You need to mark the location of the holes and then use a small screwdriver and work up to a larger phillips type to make it large between the fins enough to fit the mounts. The fan will not fit behind my 2005 stock tank but will fit easily behind the Clarke tank. I have a used yellow one for sale - cheap. I didn't care for the look. You also don't have a place to mount the thermostat. Thanks to LeFrog, I found one on E-Bay and epoxied it to the radiator.

I wish that I knew about your yellow tank. I just got my clark. I would like to put some blue decals on it to break up the yellow. My petcock screw holes were to wide on one side. I got the screws started but the tank is leaking. I am talking to the guys at Just Tanks to work this out. They've been very responsive to my inqueries.

Tonight my bike is sittin on the deck with a bucket under the petcock. I've been reduced to this.

We are riding the kokopille trail in a couple of weeks. I have a lot of stuff to do to my bike before then. Having a leaking tank isn't helping much.
