Is there a special tool you must use or can a tool be made to tighten/loosen hex nut holding inner clutch hub on 2006 model.

Easiest way is to use an air powered impact--no special tool needed, it spins right off.

An easy way to make a tool to keep the clutch assembly from spinning is to take one old steel plate and one old fiber plate, position them in the hub/basket so everything lines up, and drill a couple of small holes and bolt them together.

Now you have a cheap and free clutch holding tool.

RE: Re: inner clutch hub nut

how about riveting/welding all your friction plates together then welding on a handle.....

works a treat!

That's an excellent tip. One question though, how do you keep the entire clutch from spinning? The book shows a gear segment tool is needed to lock the assembly to the primary drive gear.
