Improved 1 - SEM coil upgrade

First reports are now back from an owner who paid for their coil to not only be repaired but have a new ignition timing graph put into his coil. it was done as a racing mod - as in to go faster but first reports are that the bloody thing is excellent around town and a nice improvement. no details of a change when stepping it up though. apparently it now loves traffic and is real easy to ride slowly. :cheers:

Hi Taffy,
care to divulge the new and improved timing curve? Or even the stock timing curve for that matter??

I'm sure I'll find the stock data somewhere on this beloved site, but right now they're being a bit elusive.

I've scrapped the entire SEM system and I'm running a home-built inductive ignition solution right now. It starts and runs a treat even off the e-start from cold, but I've no dyno to work out a sensible ignition curve so I've guessed. It's super-conservative as I don't want the expense of new piston, but I'd like to know how far away from stock I am before I start tweaking.

What are you prepared to tell me?

I'm honestly not being elusive when I say I have no idea! for the last three years (2001 to 2003) of SEM on the Husabergs they changed the part number to all the models and every year so a lot of very late development went in. presumably during 2003 they did a lot more ready for 2004 but Husaberg went to Kokusan. that left that development unused. also they were supplying the coils to VOR.

have a look at my e-bay products and you'll see the cost and details there. it is Craig from Louth who has the two coils so drop him a line for more details. he is riding the bike every weekend now and even called me again at the weekend.
