My FE570 is the Aus version that has no ignition switch. I bought a KTM 78011065100 switch as recommended on the Advrider forum.
I cannot see the female 4 pin plug to connect to.
How do you wire the switch up?
I may be wrong but I don't believe there is one. I have a UK spec bike which did not come with an ignition switch. I eventually bought a generic switch and wired it in but I too could find no trace of an OE switch connector.
I wired the switch into the starter circuit. I was going to wire it into the fuel pump circuit also but at the time I was having starting problems with the bike which turned out to be the beginning of the faulty pump saga so I didn't bother.
I didn't think they would make different looms. I've looked and cannot see it. Must be there somewhere.
If not will have to wire into starter and fuel pump as a last resort
Nope, no connector at least in EU harness. Gotta improvise a bit here.
Bought 4-pole superseal male+female connector kit with pins and going to wire it to kill button circuit when the key is in off position and to activate fuel pump and lighting when the key is in on position. The ECU programming plug have these those wires which shorted together enables full electrics even when the bike is shut down.
I put my ignition switch (570 eu) in the start button circuit. This way I disable the starter button so no one can start it by accident. If they want to steal the bike its simple to jump any switch so I think its good enough. This way a kid or a clumsy person cant start it and rev (I got a recluse..). I guess it will help on insurance as well.
There is a black cable going to the start button that just goes back as a loop, I used that one. The loop is hidden in the "cable hose/protection".
I hooked up my switch with connectors as I figured that anyone willing to steal my bike will succeed anyway. To pull off the front light mask and short a switch is a no brainer. This way I can easilly jump the switch myself if it breaks far away in a forest somewhere. I don't want to risk not getting home because of a switch...
