I WISH I COULD GO OUT ON MY BIKE AND NOT HAVE TO WORRIE ABOUT THE MAIN BEARINGS GOING !!!!

THIS IS MY MAIN CONCERN ON THE WHOLE BIKE !!!!

I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH AN EYE CATCHING,POWERFUL,GREAT SOUNDING BIKE.

ITS JUST A SHAME I CANT HELP BUT WORRY WHEN IM OUT.

I ONLY GIVE IT SUM ABOUT 1/5 OF THE TIME IM RIDING IT.

WOULD JUST BE NICE IF I COULD GET MAIN BEARINGS THAT WERE GUARANTEED !!!!

I have yet to hear of a 501 main going... just ride my man...

Mikey, why worry? Go ride the thing, put your worries behind you and have a good time, thats why you have the bike anyway. How many main bearings have you gone through? If you have old bearings and think they are going, change them. Riding a bike that you are not confident in is no fun. I have an 02 470 and as far as I know, it still has the original bearings, and they are just fine (knocks on wood). I don't know about you, but I ride to get away from my worries. I think Bikebarnbeckman says it best in his signature "Low stress is my goal and two wheels will get me there". No worries mate

talking of mains, my berg 501 has developed a metalic clank every now and then at tickover , so i took the cam cover off and had a look in there ,then i took the clutch cover off and looked in there , could'nt see anything wrong, so i took the flywheel cover off and did'nt see ote in there either ?...then i struck it up and the flywheel moves in and out due to excessive end float or maybe a main bearing starting to collapse. anyway i'm off out on it tomorrow hoe it stays together...any thoughts anyone?
