Hey i was just wondering what kind of husaberg that i should get for my next bike. I now have a CRF230, and i want to move up to a husaberg. I am 5'10 160 lbs. Thanks for everyone writing back, or at least some tips on other bikes. :D

Husaberg to start with??

Hey, wannahusaberg...
Welcome aboard!! Lots of info on this site, and lots of members ready to opine!!
Logical step from a 230 would be to a fe450 or fc450, but even a 550 is very rideable. Husabergs don't seem to be "violent" bikes; they all have power, torque, and handling, but all are manageable.
I got my '98 in 200 winter, and I had been away from dirt bikes since the mid-'60s. The bike wasn't a handful, just so much better than the old Brit-bikes of that time (desert sleds) that I had to be a bit respectful of its capabilities 8O versus my ability !!!
Where and what type of riding you do may influence your choice. I ride mostly trails up here in Maine, and in some of the nastier areas I suspect a bit more maneuverability, such as an fe series, would probably help; if you are riding mostly open desert or fire roads, or mx tracks, then the fc might suit ya better.
Any one of the Husaberg bikes will be a blast! for more info, just watch the posts and ask questions. A lot of the members have had, or still have, multiple 'bergs, and can tell you how the bikes are different on a ride.

My thoughts are, being that they are all physically basically the same size.
It would depend on what type of riding you do. All are big ,fast and powerfull with the exception maybe being the 400. The 400 being a little more durable and user friendly.
I think it would come down to what kind of deal I could get as opposed to which individual displacement I wanted. What I am trying to say is, once you decide which type you want (FE,FX,FC or FS). If you find a good deal, buy it reguardless of the displacement.

P.S.
t-jet tim has a nice bike 4-sale. Please buy it :thumbright:

after a CRF230 the only one for you is the FE400e enduro machine. the 400 was made until 12 months ago and is now a 450 with better carb and ignition and has strted to lose some of it's 'mildness'. the 400 is a great machine-a gentle giant.

if you buy a used one that has been raced you'll get a bargain because they need lots of fettling to get right and then when they are they're great.

Almost sounds like an "advertisement" for your bike!

Welcome wanna,
I started riding dirt bikes at 37 years old on a yamaha
ttr-250 after 1 year I moved to an '02 husaberg fe501e. No problems
with the power, the new bike made me a better rider with better handling
and the low end torque to lug me out of tight spots. I've never riden any
bergs other than the 501's but I wouldn't count them out due to displacement. good luck.

Phil

I have an 02-fe501 for sale, many extras, revloc clutch, auxillary fuel tank, GPR Steering Stabalizer, scotts oil filter, skid plate, cycra probend hand guards, new plastic and graphics have never been put on. I am in the San Francisco Bay Area.

It's also has a dual sport kit. Ridden by 45 year slow poke. No problems and runs great. MX tech front suspension.

Welcome aboard.I think after reading your other post I would go with a FE model.Trail ride in the mountains it depends on what you like.I went from a RM250 to a Husaberg FE501 and the berg is alot easier to ride. The FEs have a wide gear ratio transmission which should cover the bases nicely.Hope this helps clear things up a little 8) .

Hey wannahusaberg
I have a 2000 FE400 very clean thats been a great trail bike. I replaced with FE450 2004 that is much more violent. Have some extras on the 400 all to make more trail friendly, can send pic's if you are interested. Bought my first Husaberg in 96 a FC 501 and have never looked back. Well enough of that. Wish you all the luck in making that deal and if I can help give me an e-mail. I'am a motivated seller.

unless you are pretty good with the tools do not buy a new bike in a crate.Besides the fact that it may create a problem if you need a warranty repair, you as the customer just do not get the proper pdi that the manufacterur expects .also if you are being offered a machine with out paying tax this implies that the seller is not giving you you the proper paperwork to register your bike with the dmv.Besides the fact that you may not be able to register the machine dont forget that it also limits who you will be able to sell it to when that day arrives.
