Well it was 4 weeks ago now that I was riding my bike when I was going very slow while turning around, not quite enough throttle and stalled, put left foot down to keep balance and CRACK broke my damn foot. I didnt realize that my foot was broken at the time tho
So I kept about my business till the pain was to severe and went to the hospital. Yep fricken broken.
So needless to say Ive had a bit of time on my hands, so went out to the garage and performed the bikes first valve adjustment, abit of a pain in the ass, the first time.
could not get the damn feeler gauge to fit in that small area, so I did the 1/8 turn
idea seemed to work ok, all valves were a shade tight.
Hopefully only two more weeks and then I can ride again, its driven me crazy not being able to ride especially with only 4.5 hours on it. Guess i'll change the oil to in the next couple of days.

Thankfully its snowing EH!! Doesn't likely hurt as much today I bet.

get well soon

Where in AB R U again?

Red Deer, Luckily I have an air cast so I can walk on it and take it off sometimes, Doctor says to walk on it a bit through out the day with out the cast. And hopefullynext week I will start phisio on it

Ya the weather is pretty crappy right now, snowfall warning in effect. As long as the weather smartens up in the next few weeks we will be laughen.

Hey Fry do you know anything about Blood Indian campground area, Me and the wife are supposed meet with some of her family there may long weekend.wouldnt mind riding the bike down that way. Some of her family lives in Brooks.

I live about 35 min from the campground, about half way to Brooks from the campground. There is a small lake, a few :) trees, and a general store/gas station. Nothing to ride but flat, rocky prairie. Depending on your arrival date/time, your welcome to come down for a ride here, we are heading to Kookanoosa so timing may be out.

Before the weather turned icky we were going to ride here this weekend, but I may go ride the Porky's instead, maybe there will be snow there. Always a cool ride when you can ride through snow when there is dirt underneath

keep well

Thanks for the riding offer, but I've only got street tires on the fs650, dont think the traction in the snow would be to great.

Does anyone ever run sand paddle tire on there bergs? I love riding in the sand dunes but dont want to spend all the money for another set of wheels. Would be cool if I could just get a set of paddles vulcanized onto a motard tire, anyone ever heard of that before?

Oh, an FS will be a very boring ride around your camping spot, long straight roads.............................................. ................ ......

with a couple pot holes :)

Paddled 17 ? there is a company that retreads from old tires

Hambergler,

Hooker makes paddle tires that are pretty good. They take a used dirt tire and grind off the knobbies. Then they vulcanize paddles on. Maybe they would build you a couple of tires??? My only concern is would you have enough clearance to the swingarm?

have you ever checked out the dunes in Rexburg Idaho? 12 hour drive from Red Beer:)

Depending on the height of the paddle, I think that there should be enough clearance. I dont see why they couldnt just vulcanize paddles onto an existing street tire, that way it would be wide enogh for the sm rim.

No never been to Idaho, the only dunes that I have ridden are Brule, near Hinton, which is still a lot of fun and only 4 hours away!

Rexburg (St Anthony) Idaho is the coolest! The area is about 5 km by 20 km. At the east end the dunes are rolling and about the size of two story houses. At the west end they are 500 to 1000 ft high.....Said to be the tallest dunes in North America. If you like downhill skiing then you'd love Rexburg.....hours of "carving". We normally make a boys weekend in Sept and head down there to blow off some steam.

I would sure love to go, My cousins and I have been talking about going down there for a while now, but have never actually set up a time to go. Maybe next year I could hook up with you and go down there?

What do you have for bikes? This is my first Husaberg. 05 FS650e. Bought it new in January. Ive wanted one for many years but could never afford one.

I went to school in Rexburg, ID back in 89-91 and spent lots of time out in those dunes... 4-wheelin, shooting, even a couple of ill conceived hang gliding attempts  . Those dunes are great!

Hambergler,

Certainly you can join us if we go. We didn't go last fall becuase we knew we we're going to Moab this past March. But now that its been over a year since we've last been to the dunes, I can smell a road trip brewing :)

A 650 would be a serious weapon down there....makes me shake just thinking about it. Kinda like the difference between a 250 2t and a 450 4t in deep sand. Your 650 would out climb anything out there (except the full modded quads that show up on NOS).
