One year ago I bought my first bike. A 2000 FE400 with Supermoto wheels. After riding on track once a week through this summer, I got completely hooked.
Now I've ordered a brand new FC450 with Supermoto wheels. I'll be picking it up tomorrow! :) Christmas eve came early this year.

Yiehaaa!!

Congratulations on the new bike! Let us know how you like it!

Hi,

nice to hear about your passion. I feel it the same way.
Yes, tell us how you like the bike. Or is it love?

best regards and greetings to norway

I can feel that there's much mpre power available now with the 450. Even from low revs even if the stroke is shorter (I'm lead to believe) Also, the bike is much easier to flick around than the old one. I'm not sure why, but the steering bar is at least two inches higher on the new one. I tried it yesterday for the first day on rain tyres (old ones) so I cannot compare speed. but theres not a shadow of doubt that this is MUCH faster around the track. I keep up with KTM 525SXs. Great :)

Hi,

yes the new engines with counter balancers make the bike feels lighter,
cos there are less rotary forces.
Additional to that the 04 frame geometry was changed, so the fork is a bit steeper than the years before.

have fun and kick the KTM´s into the .... :p

greetings

Counter balancers?? Are you sure that 04 models have got them?

Anyway, pictures:

Hi Vegard,
Congratulations on the new bike.
2004 models do indeed have an axial mounted balance assembly.
However, truth be told the benefit of said balance unit seems to be more psychological than physical.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Dale
