i realy could though i brought an fe400 2002 a couple of monthes back rode about half a mile and the stator packed up luckily its under warranty waited 2 monthes for it to come back it arrived today put it all back together tried to kick it over about 6-8 times and snap the kick start snaps off from the spline where it leaves the engine cannot believe it!! :angry:

that'll be one of the early shafts with a deep groove on the end of the splines before it goes in the cover!

you're not the only one, the good news is that all the new ones are retro fitable and don't break come-what-may.
