Ok ,you with SEM experience.Will a 2002
husaberg stator fit a 1984 husqvarna wr400
with a sem? If so will the Huskie flwheel work?

These are the dimensions of the
Husqvarna SEM stator:

Stator dia. at coils-3.620"
Dia. at trigger coil-3.316"
Thickness minus backing plate-1.194"
Three mounting screws to backing
plate-center to center,one screw to
next nearest screw-1.450"

I was hoping a SEM from a Husaberg
would fit.Any one got the measurements
for one?

Early "case mounted" Husaberg SEM stators will work in the Husqvarna.

Hope this helps.
Dale

Tim,
Also check the "Replace the SEM no more" thread.

Now that Dale says the Berg stator will work, your friend can order the stator only (without flywheel) and save a few dollars.

KTM part #580.31.002.050

Hope the old Husky gets some new life!

Hey guys,

The 58031002050 KTM SEM Stator is not CASE mounted. It fits the 1999-2003 model Husabergs. I suspect your 84 Husqvarna Stator is CASE mounted.

Joe

The 84 Husqvarna stator is mounted to
a mountimg plate. The mounting plate is
slotted for some adjustment on the cases.
Marlin is sending me a 2002 Husaberg stator
for comparison and possible purchase.I
hope it works. Thanks alot gentlemen.

thank you tim :)

T-Jet,
Said stator (2002) will fit, however, the ignition timing and advance rate will be way out. :( sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Kind Regards,
Dale

The 2002 Husaberg ign. is dual profile.
How do I control which one its in,and
which is closest to the Husky?I can redrill
the mounting plate and rotate the stator,
does it need to be advanced or ********?

Husaberg Stator

I think that the stator is only for energy and pick-up purposes. The dual curve (profile) is made on the coil which is also CDI. Am I right?

Tim,
The cover mounted (late) stator views flywheel rotation in reverse of the early (case) mounted units. The items look the same, however, they are not. You can make the late stator work by removing the flywheel key and rotating the flywheel for and aft on the crankshaft taper. I did such testing on a lathe, unfortunately I do not recall how much advance / ****** was used to find correct low rpm timing. The advance rate and curve will work, however, not to spec.

I have successfully used the early Husaberg Stator in the Husqvarna.

Hope this helps clear things up.

Sincerely,
Dale

Yes it is a two stroke.They made a WR400 and a WR430.

The Husqvarna is case mounted. The pickup is about
thirty degrees advanced from the top center of the cases.
I am begining to dislike SEM products.
