Hi guys,

I have been a passive member so far, but just lately I have start looking more options of motorcycles and I would like from you to guide me on the best bike for me, your comments I will really appreciate.

I like to race, enduros and hare scrambles, I race FIM mode in Chile for almost 8 years, I start late at the age of 15 to start riding and by the age of 19 I start racing, I start with a DT 175 Yamaha, then XR250, WR250 Yamaha, WR400F. 1998 WR400F I really love this bike even many hate it I did my best win intermediate category and move to class B and won on the category 3rd place (experts B, there is A, X too), this bike was a little unstable at high speed then I have a Gas Gas 250 (did not race it and I have it for 5 month) and in 2003 I move to Florida and bought a KTM 520 and I start racing hare scramble for a year I like the bike for the woods, but it have a lot of power, got married sold it and I haven ridden for 3 years.

I have not done many sport in a few years, I am slim weight 170 and my high is 6,2. and 32 years (I have to improve my strength in the Gym and start training again)

I am looking a bike that have the response as a 4T, have good low and mid range as I like tight tracks, and rocks, I plane to use the bike for racing in wood Florida.

My options I have seen are, Husaberg 450 (the bearing problem has make me hold on it) the others I have not find many information how ever I would like to know more are TM Racing 250 EN F, TM Racing 300 EN, GA GAS 450F, GAS GAS 300.

I would really appreciate your comments,

Cheers,

Gustavo

Good choice of bikes. Don't worry about Hbg realiability, it is on par with KTM, and that is good. I recently rode the 2007 tm with Ohlins suspension, the performance was amazing, it absorbed roots, rocks and such and didn't hop in the whoops. The tm250f is hands down the fastest 250f on the market, but you can do w/o the e-start, get the mx model as it rips and comes with the Keihin rather than the Mikuni (on the en). I know of two guys with TM250f bikes that can't say enough good about them, they make you a hero. The tm300 is a very fast bike as well, and is probably best avoided by beginnners, it is designed to compete with 500+ 4T bikes. TM build and quility is tops. I have not ridden a GasGas 4T since it was a 400, but I think it is more of a recreational play bike, not the best choice for a woods racer. The GasGas 300 (and 250) is a great enduro bike and carves thru the trees like nothing else, and the motors are probably the most tractable 2T motors made.

Hola Amigo,

I race enduros in Mexico and ride a Husaberg FE450e '06. the bike has losts of power fom bottom to top, very linnear delivery and incredible handling and suspension. I have raced it for two years and trail riding every sunday, the bike has only needed valve adjustment and oil changes. the only after market parts she has are handguards, skidplate and electric fan, all of them available throug the dealer.

The Husaberg is perfect for technical riding as the power is always under control, the bike is very light (compared to other 4 stokes) and likes to be ridden fast when the terrain is more open. The 6 speed transmission is unique among enduro machines.

Previously, I raced a GasGas EC 250 '02. I had it for 4 seasons and also was very reliable and fast, never failed. the only trouble I had was that I broke a radiator and took like 4 weeks to get the part from the dealer. I believe GasGas are the best 2 stroke enduro machines you can get, way better than KTM.

If you like 4 strokes, I recommend a Husaberg 450. The 550 or 650 might be a little too much for me. You'll be happy for many years.

About TM, I can't tell. Those bikes are not available in Mexico.

tm-enduro is prob the most experienced TM man here but out of the 3 marques, it i was going 2st id definately look at TM or gasgas, 4st though only husaberg is the viable option.

GasGas 4 st. as already said whilst vastly improved is not a patch on the TM let alone the husaberg.

TM 4st. mmmmmm as much as i like them i dont believe the 4st is as good as their 2st bikes. the 250f i rode several yrs ago which was infact a factory bike being used by the UK team was ***** and even they admitted it.
haven't seen any new 250f so perhaps TM-enduros mates have newer developed models. 450 dont know enough to comment.

Yes they are riding the 2007 250f. I have not ridden the 250 or 450 TM 4Ts, I have only ridden the 530.

tm-enduro,

How is compare the 530 EN F with the KTM 520 EXC 2001? that is the last one I had.

I did got the impression form many articles that TM and GG are more 2T bikes, and their 4T technology is not as experiance than Husaberg, but will it be husaberg reliable with the bearing problem on the '06 and '07?

Husaber is doing so well in motard that probably KTM have visions on let Husaberg as motard brand and off-road for KTM? what do you think?

cheers,

I have not ridden the tm530en, I rode the 530mx model. The motor was fairly new (so it is unfair to judge it's overall power), but my gut feel was that my 496 was faster (but my 496 is very fast). The TM is a major step forward from the 520, the TM has more bottom end power but MAY not rev out as far (again, hard to say until it breaks in). TM is not a technologically inferior product, mor is is unreliable. Fact is, I think that TM is one of the most reliable bikes made. The TM handling is much better than the KTM.

hello Guys,

I received an email from tm-racing.co.nz, they are uploading a news video this weekend for the TM 450MX, they also have the 2008 models at display.

I am going to DC for a week, any body knows a dealer for Husaberg, TM or Gas Gas near DC?

Cheers,
