Hi guys,
I'm new on the forum.
Can you help me with some information please?

I'm found off the new sm 570, the dealer here in Belgium doesn't know much about it yet.
He said that I can compare the mechanical off the bike with the FE 570 2009.
I want to use the SM 570 for the road.

How many times (km or miles) do I need to change oil, checking valves, replacing parts?? My friend said that the bike is to expensive for road use, to much services needed.

Anyone with the Sm 570 or FE 570 ?

Thanks a lott.

Hey, welcome! Already member of supermotard.be? I don't have experience with the new 570 so i can't help you :supersad: Hope to see you on the street

I have said a number of times I think the 570 would make a great SM bike. (sp?) has his setup that way, he'll probably chime in.

The bike is a 'race' bike, so yeah, the maintenance will be more often than the typical bike meant for street use. How often depends on your use. Take a look at the maintenance schedule (I think you can download it from here or the Husaberg.com site) and see if you can live with it - note that there are two scheds, one for racing use and one for 'hobby' use. If you are looking for a bike that you can ride and mostly ignore the maintenance, you might want to look elsewhere.

I bought mine for off-road use, and I am sticking to the recommended schedule until I get it broken in (about one more hour of riding - hopefully today), get the checkup done, then I will do/have done the next oil change/valve check at 30 hours and decide where to go from there. So far the valves haven't needed to be touched and the oil is clean. I will probably change the oil often, and hope the valves don't need much. We'll see.

There are a few people with a lot of time on these bikes but their use may not match yours. My use is very tame - I just ride trails, and slowly at that, so I am pretty sure the bike will last a lot longer than if I raced it or even their 'hobby' schedule.

Also, from what I have heard, the new engine is supposed to be more robust than the older ones, so they should last longer.

I don't think I would use the bike for commuting - generally I don't use bikes for that anyway. If that is going to be your main use, or even make up a significant percentage of your use, think about the expense. Otherwise, I don't put too much of a price on fun - if I can afford it I go for it.

testing husaberg sm 610

What a fantastic day!!
Today I've got the chance to ride whit the new 570 sm.
I'm impressed! No trilling, fast acceleration, good top speed.
Suspension a little bit to hard for me, but the bike was new so...
You can play with the bike! fun fun fun....
It's difficult to make the choice now, because the bike is so great. But the maintenance is expensive.
I'm going to choose between the husky sm 610 and the Berg sm 570.
Fun or saving money and also have a good bike???
Guess I need to sleep on it a lot.
Thanks for your friendly replies.
Michie, hope to see you on the road soon.

RE: testing husaberg sm 610

If you want the real fun, go for the Berg é;) And the maintenance is a bit expensive, but it's also fun and you learn from it. I'm still a student and I'm also having a Berg, and yes it also needs a lot of maintenance. But once you're on (or off) the road you'll forget all the downsides of the bike, it's just that more fun then the "lamer" sm's. See you (and hope you make the good choice :D )
