Hey guys, jumped on my bike over the weekend to go for a ride and noticed the large nut on top of the tripple clamps holding the head stem bearings together was missing...... eeeck

All my other bikes are garraged at work so I need to get it fixed today so I have transport.

My parts manual states it as part number#800.01.036.00
I have called my one and only local husaberg dealer and are waiting for him to get back to me.
I was thinking that because the forks are *********** they should be the same parts as used on a KTM, but the 2 KTM dealers I called were not 100% sure and I am also waiting for them to get back to me.

I did a quick search of www.husaberg.org and didnt see any threads with a relevant name come up on the first few pages....... does anybody no what KTM part number I am looking for???

thanks

Hey there dude! My mate had the same problem before a ride. The rear axle nut (or collar nut) is exactly the same size as the headstem nut. The axles (or spindles) :) on the 'Berg and Kato are the same size as each other. What year is your 'Berg? Go to www.ktm-parts.com and look under the KTM OEM Parts thread. This should have your part number. Hope this helps!

thanks for the link scruff :)

but unfortunetly they dont seem to be a match :(

im looking for a "collar screw m22x1/5h/ws27 alu
(i think that means "m22" thread type (refers to # of threads per inch i think) "5h" 5 threads high, and "ws27" 27mm wide, and finally "alu" made from alluminium.)

the KTM parts seem to be a "m20x1,5 w27"
(which i think is a "m20" thread, 5 high and 27mm wide)

It would apear to me to have the wrong thread type, it is close, i bet you could prob. even screw it on, but i wouldnt trust it to hold as the threads on the nut could sheer off.

anybody else have any sugestions?
Ill just keep going through parts manuals till i come up with something :(

the 1.5 probably refers to the thread pitch. Metric threads are like 6x1 or 8x1.25 etc.So the only difference between the KTM part and the Berg part is the inside dia of the nut 22mm Berg and 20 mm KTM...Wont fit.

nsman, i was a little confused.
Looking at the manuals KTM use "," to seperate numbers of information and husaberg use "/"
I wasnt sure if I should be reading the commas as fullstops or not, i assumed they were different.

Thanks for help nsman and scruff...... im waiting for a Husaberg part
good news is its getting air freighted to me and should have it from interstate tomorrow. :D

The Berg headstem nut is one of its own its a regular thing for them to fly off if you dont loctite them, it doesnt match any KTM nut, i carry them in stock at all times probably my most common selling Berg part ive got, try safety wiring the new one as well because they retail at about $29.00.aus
