Hello guys,

I am new on forum and there is only 1 question I would like to ask.
Because FS 650 is pure racing machine I would like to know how is with its reliability?
I am asking about 06+ models.

I currently ride CH Racing WSM 125 (125 4stroke SM)

Enjoy,

Urban

welcome to UHE urban

please put your location and the bike (????) in your signature!

they have no obvious problems, no common faults. they appear to come ready to race. however, like all SM machines you must throw money at them to keep them in good order!

regards

Taffy

06 onwards you can't go wrong. Even though they are race ready, you won't be riding it anywhere near its limit so you can go valves every 1000km and oil change every 500kms unlike the manual suggest. If you are going to race it do the valves as per the manual HRS.

What about the '05 models?

I've already asked this before, but I've heard too little in each direction to get a good idea. I've heard that the later models are much more reliable, and that they also aren't reliable at all. However, the latter statements usually come from Japanese bike riders, and the proceeding comes from Euro bike riders..

I've got 10 hrs & 500kms on my 08 FS650. Took it to the new local ( 100kms away ) dealer today with leaking w/pump seal & dead battery from straight out of the box. Apart from that all good. Dont think there are too many changes between it & the 06 model. Had the 06 Fe550 & never had any problems with it at all. Awesome bike.

Hi Urban, I'd say your best getting an 04 onwards, as I had an 02 FS650E to begin with, and had terrible trouble starting it. The 04 is like a different bike in that respects, and each year after there have been further improvements. 04's onwards also start off the button, I never managed to start my 02 off the button, even when warm.

Anyway, I can HIGHLY recommend you get one, their performance is A1++

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'm picking up the dirt version of the FS 650 this weekend.
