I noticed that Husaberg offers "funancing" through GE's credit program.

anyone ever use them to purchase a new bike.?........was thinking about maybe financing a new dirt bike.......was just curious if anyone tried them........

I'm guessing they are no different than any other lending institution but thought I would just ask....... :?:

Hey there staudio,

It's a relatively new offer, and although I've not heard anything concerning a member's experience with it, I've also not heard anything bad about it :)

Maybe one of the members will drop in that has made use of the financing offer.

thanks,

Hey there Staudio, welcome to the UHE. Just FYI, although it is a bit of leg work, local credit unions are your best bet. many of them, unlike regular banks, offer financing for Toys, including dirt bikes. Many are easy to join like opening a savings account with as little as ten bucks. and they usually offer better terms and rates than the financing companies. shop around, remember bring a recent copy of your credit score with you, that way you can get a better idea of the rate with them running your credit. you can run your own without it making a difference on your report. download your score off of the net.

Oh, now I know why I need to clean up those couple bad looking items from my credit history.

hey frog, don't take this like i think you have a negative on your own report. but just FYI, there is no possible way to "clean" your report. once it is there, it's there. unless you can prove that it is there and not supposed to be. The only remedy is time. DO NOT believe adverts that say they can clean your credit report.

my credit union won't do a loan on a bike unless its street legal.......... :x

just seems odd to discuss financing a dirt bike.......but then again the cost of a new 450 enduro (Husa/KTM/Husky) is getting close to the cost of a 600cc sportsbike... :?

Yes, you can when it is not accurate. In my case I paid a credit card bill in full and they sold the account to a collection agency and the latter pretends it's not paid.

What's wrong in this country?

Anyway, I don't finance anything, I own everything, call me Old Europe, but that's how I do business.

RE: Re: RE: Husaberg finance programs

As I said, "unless you can prove it's not supposed to be".

Good for you, the Joneses are not worth keeping up with.

Unless it's to own a Husaberg :) then you can roost their lawn!

One big concept I have learned while living in Europe...

People here, in general, don't buy ANYTHING unless they fork over the cash, ON THE SPOT! Most folks don't have a credit card, or DO have only one, and it sits in the desk drawer most of the time.

Frog, I commend you. It is one big, wise, lesson I have learned since being here. Americans are drowned in debt. Much of this is due to the culture in America. It will come back to haunt us when China decides it wants to get paid back!!!

DON'T SPEND WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE!!!

(caveat - unless it's on a 'berg!)

It ends up being WAY more gratifying when you spend what you have saved. It's like a reward for being good. Hardship breeds character and personality, IMHO.

RE: Re: RE: Husaberg finance programs

I used their 6 months same as cash and paid the bike off at the end on the offer. I just received the notice of the satisfied lien 3 MONTHS after I paid the bike off. I couldn't get a straight answer out of anyone for the last two months. For that reason alone I'd never use them again. I should have just paid for the bike at the dealer.

RE: Re: RE: Husaberg finance programs

wow, if they have a six months same as cash and you can afford to do either( pay cash or pay it off in 6 months), it is always good to keep your SPENDING cash liquid as long as you can....for example, keep your spending cash in a high yield savings account, like HSBC at 5.5% and make money on your money. just replenish your account after you take the money out to make the monthly payment. I would go for the 6 months same as cash deal if you have the discipline.

I don't know about the Chinese (of course, I think it's still to early to measure Britain's reaction to the Tea Party) and all that, but I've long been a proponent of not financing toys, and avoiding the financing of depreciating items in general unless there's little other choice.

Forgive me for getting on my soapbox. The question was about one particular company, as opposed to the wisdom of financing.

Almost. You don't always have to prove it's wrong. Claiming an item is wrong sets into motion a requirement that the companies reporting support it. You'll (I mean "you" in the broad sense) win by default if they miss a response deadline, even if your complaint isn't true. Usually though, the item stays in the report, because the system is set up to deal with crocodile tears.

RE: Re: RE: Husaberg finance programs

Satex, yes you can do that but it is illegal. Some people play that game, though. "I do not remember contracting this debt... I don't think I ever owned this credit card... I don't remember having this vehicle repossessed..."

Good clarification. Fraud IS illegal, and I wasn't suggesting the approach I describe. The statement was made that such changes CAN'T take place, but they can. Obviously, "can" and "should" are two different words.

try Hertitage community credit union. if they are near you. My folsom branch loaned me the dirt bike money for my Fe450e, while my other credit union wont lend on dirt bikes. Keep searching for a CU that will.

G E finance

I bought my 06 650 through GE , The dealer faxed in my info and i was approved in a few minutes, Rate is "OK" about 6% . If I would have bought a KTM I could have had a 0 or 1 % rate with no money down. I got a KTM credit card in the mail also, I can only use it for KTM or husaberg parts. Last weekend I went to the KTM demo days, Rode all the new KTM's, I liked the 250 exc the best, the 450 sxf wasn't bad either. All nice bikes.Let me say though my 650 eats them up....I wouldn't trade my bike for any of them, but I might buy the 250 someday, I still like 2 strokes..

Many credit unions will finance toys including dirtbikes. You just have to do some leg work and be willing to open an account. I keep an account at a credit union where I used to live open with 10 dollars becasue they give outstanding rates on things.

oh well, my 04 is going to have to last me for awhile- as I don't think that in the future many "new" bikes that are a few years old will still be sitting on showroom floors or in the warehouse in canada just waiting and can be had for a steal... think those days are disappearing. and I just can't justify 8-9k for a new one. although in a few years there will be some people on here that will be ready to part with some solid 06-07's...

MotoXotica typically has last years bikes discounted about $1000 down from this years prices and sometimes I have seen a two year old bike in their shop for even a little less.

Yep, Dan set me up quite nicely with my "new" 04 in Feb of '06 I will go to him for my next purchase most likley, although a screamin deal like I got last time i think is going to hard to come by, as I believe BMG is selling all they can get in the US.
