Hi to all,
Couple of months I''ve bought Fe400 03. After one longer ride I've noticed some strange sound a the top of the top head. In this video berg is started at 1:50 and you can hear that sound (like a marble in cylinder).

If anybody knows should I immediately service engine, or maybe there is a chance that everything is OK (if this is common issue)?
After I''ve detected that sound I ride it about 20 miles to the first town and everything looks OK it works like everything is OK, power is the same like before, but only that irritating sound.

Thanks for the answers

I'm sure others can provide much better answers, but at a minimum drain the oil and see what it looks like. Check for metal. Pull the spark plug.

Not the same thing, but my brother lost a washer down a carb and it bounced around in the combustion chamber until we pulled the head to get it out. If the carb somehow sucked something down there and it made it past the valve, it might be in there. Checking the plug might show damage if that is the case.

a trick I use is to remove the inspection caps and to look at the rocker arms moving and see if the noise is in rythem with what you see?

and get a matching shirt......!

Taffy

It was problem with camshaft, it was damaged. Because of that cam follower bearings was also damaged, so valves was producing strange noise.
Auto decompression cable was a little loosely, but decompresser was still working fine.

Anyway thanks on your answer
