the husaberg w/salers is closed for the holidays, is anyone aware of a japanese model bike that would suit ??? .

Try a KTM dealer, most jap bikes have the morse style cam chain where KTM and Husaberg use the roller type.
And I believe a transmission chain of an old air-cooled Maico is the same also!! Only it acts between the crank and clutch here.

O6B is the correct chain size. Use a solid bushing / solid roller design.

O6B is 3/8 pitch yet metric. Said chain features different rollers then that of standard 3/8 industrial chain.

Do not go cheap regarding the chain lest ye shall be overhauling thy engine. 8O

OEM "Regina" split roller chain.

Hope this helps.
