Yup, that thread was the clincher - after reading through it I decided to get a Husaberg, period.

If it says anything at all about the bike, I absolutely love mine. No it's not my first bike, that happened about thirty one years ago, but I think it is the best bike I've ever had. It never fails to put a smile on my face. I just went out and did a 120 mile off road loop this afternoon. Yep, still loving this bike. 2011 FE570S (with mods).

ditto on the adventure thread, bought mine after reading that.

ditto on the smile, once it's warmed up and i grab a decent handful of throttle i'm beaming from ear to ear.

it looks like the FE570 will be the last of its kind for a while... the light weight 500+cc market doesn't seem to be economical for manufacturers, with the 2013 fe501 dropping displacement with that kato engine, and the disappearing act of the heavier but still fun husky TE610 (which was 570cc).

Yes, I agree that I'm disappointed in what the market is doing with these mid/small-displacement adventure bikes. The New Husabergs look like KTM's with blue plastic. Unfortunately, the 70 degree engine went the way of Dodo. I love the weight displacement with cylinder placed along the bike's midline and the fuel being carried lower. When it is slick, this bike handles much better than the conventional configuration. That matters to those of us who live and ride where it rains and snows.

+1 for me, decided on a FE after reading about the reliability of the bike compared to the rest from that thread. But I don't use it for all that 'adventure' riding bullsh*t. I use it hardcore off road (mainly).

Well, I like the technical stuff too, but I can't find anything more "Hardcore" than riding the back country loaded with gear over every type of terrain you can imagine for several hundred miles withouth seeing a soul, then doing that for multiple days in a row.

Riding over downed trees and through ice cold rivers is cinchy when the bike has no bags, a stock fuel tank, and when you know if you dump it in the icy water, you'll just have to ride back to your truck load up and go home. Try all of that when the bike has extra fuel, all your gear and when you can't get back to the truck or even to the next town in under eight hours. I don't know, but it seems to take a lot more finesse and ability to ride like I do now than when I was riding MX and such.

i agree! i know guys who think they are good riders because they are fast in dirt, but take them through remote terrain fully loaded on an adventure ride and they are squealing for mummy.

i love taking the berg through gnarly **** as much as the next guy, but adventure riding has plenty of great challenges as well...

A big + 1 , been riding on & off for over 30 years my self, **** loads of bikes both on & off rode over those years but would honestly say the FE 570 is the best I've had, much better than the previous KTM 530, got me buggered why the yanks don't seem to like them as much as the rest of the world ?

Obviously not all Yanks are the same, I love mine. From what I see, you guys over there have a lot more variety in your riding. Over here, there is this mentality that riding is either jumping and doing back flips in the air, winning at MX so you can act like a dumb-*** gangsta, or loading your ole-lady on the back of your hog and riding to Sturgis so you can hob-nob with a bunch of real dirt bags and wannabe dirt bags. it seems it's all about trying to acheive some sort of image thing through motorcycle ownership. Personally, I ride because I love riding, I love exploring, and I like raw power and tempting fate occasionally. There is no real image I'm trying to acheive, I'm too fat and old for that, so I buy what suits me. The Husaberg suits me well, it hauls my carcass, it carries my gear, it is light so I don't have to work too hard and get skinny, it has enough power to do more than I can, and it occasionally makes me think I'm tempting fate (when I probably am). I love this bike, the best part about it is that when I wear this one out, considering all the people that can't seem to make theirs run, I might be able to score a very low hours replacement.

I am in Couldnt hurt to have a Traveiers/ camper thread here as well. We have a group going fom Wash. D.C metro area to Colorado this summer. This will be my first trip w the Berg. So Im starting to plan now.

Howdy fellow ADVenture Husaberg riders!
Glad to see that the Traveler thread made it over here. I've been lurking here for a long time, long before I bought my FE570, matter of fact this forum helped me decide that the FE would be my Lightweight ADVenture bike of choice even though most on here use it in a much different way.
I can easily ride black diamond "hardcore" singletrack trails to get my dirtbike fix, but I choose to go further and for the most part find myself challenged enough by being a Roadie in Motion yearning to change multiple time zones in a single day for my challenges in light of a single hard trail. 850+ mile one day ride while camping for a couple weeks on end is hardcore enough for me.

Luckily I live in Sunny Southern California where I have multiple choices of completely different landscapes to explore in one day.
On occasion I trailer my FE to explore a single area with my bike riding girlfriend, it's nice to have a cooler with cold beer and fresh meat at camp at the end of the day, but for the most part we enjoy the challenges of riding a lightly packed bike ready for any occasion, being 100% self sufficient. The gear and packing are as much of a challenge as big rocks to climb for me.

On a recent ADVenture riding the Baja 1000 course solo during pre-running while packed with camping gear and running into lots of guys on Dirt bikes, I can't help but take great pride in knowing I didn't involve a truck, actually rode to the Trail, and was not was dependent on a hotel room at a destination, camping where I wanted when I wanted was far most satisfying for me. More so than any black diamond trail I've ever ridden.

Journey not destination.

To each their own, I understand many Husa owners don't live in such a diverse area, or have the time to get LOST on their bike.

With that said I can't help but mention how this forum has not been very receptive and for the most part has turned me OFF with all the BS that's so common here if you're not like the masses, or happen to ask the wrong question, or start a topic that might have been covered before.

It's nice to see Husaberg ADVenture riders on here, I hope it grows around here since our 70º bikes have now become a KTM shadow and there's a growing number of people who are realizing that the Husaberg FE's are fabulous lightweight ADVenture bikes. All us Husa owners can learn from each other. I'll be happy to contribute, there's only so many hours in the day though, no time for BS, and I ride a lot. :thumb:
After all, the real racers will/have moved on to the next greatest things, even if the next greatest things aren't so great.

Long live the 70º!

Only 10,000 plus? Heck, I've managed 5500 in my first year, and I had a slow year. BTW, I need a couple LOST stickers. I need to arrange that.

Glad you approve of my link on here to your site.

+ 1 Finn, I am one of the s/t track guys you speak of. That doesnt mean that I dont dream of having the kind of lifestyle that would allow me to do the amount of riding that you do. 850 miles in a day ? In the dirt ? I have done 900 miles in 24 hours...but on a Yamaha XS11. We eastcoasters dont take enough time to enjoy life as much as you guys. We get locked into jobs & mortgages with no end in sight. Your pics & writing are real inspirations. Those night time pics eapecially, those are my brains desktop . Glad you decided to post up over here too. Maybe the other Berg guys will lighten up a little when they see what you are doing ?

Hey! I've only had the bike 9 months, I'm working on it.
The point is the Husa is proving to be a great DS bike with no issues.
Shoot me a PM, I'll send you some decals.

Thanks 1Track I get that too, we can all get caught up easily in life, sometimes it's really nice to get away to ride, even if it's for a short time. I know I cherish my time on the Husa and work hard to make time.
Cheers
