Hi!
While rebuilding the Husaberg Fs650 2002 engine, I noticed that I don´t for sure know how this kickstarter shaft should be monted. It need to be synchronized with the decomp on the other side of the shaft. I tried to mount it as I thought it should me mounted but I am not sure (on the pictures).

Can someone help me to solve this problem like send a picture of how it should be mounted. It will help me a lot!

Thanks

the foot should be pointing downwards. then it gets pushed away by the kickstart shaft. you'll see when you do this how it works.

I would encourage you to get the auto decomp working on the cam and remove this POS.

Thanks for helping.
I will make a order of the autodecomp from you taffy. I don't want the decompwire like a snake over the whole bike no more.
Does your kit include mounting instruction?
How should i cover the hole from the decomppin above the kickstartershaft?
And do you ship to Sweden if i order it from your ebay site?

we do blanking bolts for the hole at the head and the one at the back that you talk of. anyone can do it but it is the old story of the right length and size etc.

I don't do instructions because you're not physically doing anything you wouldn't do anyway. that's my excuse anyway! LOL!!!

I usually leave the nut on the outside actually. not as pretty but you can't hold the nut on the inside with anything - nothing fits. so not sure how this photo happened?

Is this the early or late 2002 650 cam?
Do i need any modification or is it just to mount?

the numbers are written on the end of the cam.

you'll see something like 34/02 and then further around you'll see '53' or similar.

the first code is the week of the year the cam was made (34th week of 2002) and the other is the cams code.

Now i have checked the cam, and it is like you said. So... is this the early or late cam?
I just want to know, if I buy your autodecomp kit on ebay. Does it fit my cam without any modification? It can't be hard to mount.
Regards

Hello Jazze

I'm afraid that it it isn't a straight fit. because the cam was made in 2001 it still has the thick cam shoulder so the kit will NOT fit.

your bike will NOT start with the 53 cam fitted on the electric starter.

so given that you want the electric start to work and you have a cam with a thick shoulder I suggest that you

buy the 08 cam
part exchange in your 53 cam (someone will love it one day)
buy a 35 PJ as well as/and or a 33PJ.
then the ADC is fine!
some people would invest in new bearings while they are there and leave the seals on.

check the atomiser in your carb for wear. look down the atomiser for a 0.1mm wide shelf that is 2mm down. if this shoulder is wearing away you need to change it and preferwably the needle.

check you have a CD1 jet.
