Im installing a new decomp valve lifter to my husaberg. All the manual decomp systems were disabled by ex owner, and im going to activate the manual one working from lever in handlebar. I think im going to leave the kickstart one disabled. Im having problems to find out how to install the recoil spring, i dont have any clue how it should be in there. There isnt any logical way to put it in there? or am I missing some parts? Hope you can tell me also some tips what should i mind when installing it, because this is my first 4-stroke motorcycle since Honda Monkey :D
ty already

go to the owners doc.
there is a good explaination how to install the spring & shaft in there.
i also have no cam or kick start decomp, only a manual one on the handle bars.works good if you have disabled the electic start.
find tdc & give it a good kick, will start every time if jetted properly.

You will need to pretension the spring. I wound mine up one turn counterclockwise so that it snaps back nicely to the "on" position. It can slip on the shaft fairly easy so I would start with a new one (order a couple) and not reuse the old spring. If the decomp is just flopping around its not going to do anything.

Use silicone at your own risk.

sorry for bad english. I meant the manual decomp spring but nice to see the automatic too if i need to work with it sometime. ill check the owner doc

edit. didnt find anything about the spring from owners doc. So im still in trouble

edit edit. can someone add picture of decomp valve? would help me alot if i can see how the spring is attached

Anyone can help me? Im trying to get the engine started this weekend so good advices needed :)

so what are you on about because to me the manual decomp is and means the 'L' arm that comes out of the front right hand corner of the rocker cover?

no need for it but it's up to you I guess. I would get the auto decomp on the cam working right and you'll never look back again!

regards

Yes Dukkinen I am curious too.............what are you on..about :)

i got my husaberg started today and it was pretty easy to kick without any manual decrompression so i think im going to leave them disabled so dont need advice about the spring anymore :D

im not sure how does the electric start work because the freewheel thing is slipping so im waiting new starter parts from taffmeister :) owner before me had changed many parts in engine so there is possibility that hes upgraded the auto decomp or atleast i hope so, because both manual decomps were disabled when i bought it

got some backfire from muffler when going to above half throttle to idle rapidly, is it normal?
