So gents, what's the story on the Husaberg 2T models? Are the 2011 just blue KTM exc/xc-w models? Do we have any close up photos to see if the 2011 WEC bikes are R&D models? Any signs of different casting on the cyllinders indicating direct port EFI? What's the plan for the 2012 models? Has anybody seen orange R&D bikes in the woods of Sweden lately.
My old 496 WEC is, well, old and it is time for a new steed. Anyone who remembers me from the old days knows that I crave 2T bikes of all sizes, but like how 4Ts put down their power (which is why I have had 3 Hbgs).
I've been watching the 70degree bikes from the sidelines and am on the fence about getting such a heavy bike. I am really hoping that Jocke move to the top this year (on his TE300).

they are meant to be just ktms with uprated suspension and a bigger tank

but alot of folks who i've spoken to swear that there must be other differences as they reckon its a better bike than the ktm by more than just the suspension.

for example two lads at the weekend had just bought new 300 ktm and a new 300 berg.

having ridden them back to back the one who bought the ktm was kicking himself and was even considering swapping.

i havent ridden one yet but am seriously thinking of getting a ride and then perhaps getting one.

any owners wish to pass comment?

I have a TE300, yes it is basicly a ktm300 with better forks and different shrounds, light ,front fender, map switch and graphics. the engine is the same, frame etc, i love it, my brother has the ktm 300 thay ride almost the same but you can tell the forks on the berg are much better !

Is the frame really the exact same, or did Hbg change the angles, or possibly different triple clamps?

Hi TM,
Good to see you as it's been awhile. Not sure if you're aware of this, but the TE 300 was not imported to the states for model year 2011 however, it's been said the 2012's will be hitting our shores. This thread hasn't had much action but their are several others that were started on the subject last year if you feel like doing a search. (you may have already done that)

Some of us are secretly hoping this first model year was to get the brand into 2-strokes while the awesome Husaberg research and development team is working on something truly innovative for 2-strokes of the future.

On a side note, someone help me here. Why the hell is two strokes abbreviated as 2t? I get the 2, but what's the t? Ya, I'm dummm. :?

I have looked at my existing threads for info. I predict that Hbg will be selling serious enduro specific / extreme enduro 2T bikes in the next year or two. Otherwise, why would they sell the same basic bike with a different name. I suspect that their are Hbg 2Ts running about with direct injection (hence my Q on engine pics). I wouldn't be surprised to see a stacked transmission 2T with a forward or rearward facing cyllinder and the case reed and exhaust port on the same side.
BTW, 2T refers to 2-Takt (the german word for cycle)

And I'd say it comes from the SWEDISH word for Cycle = takt

the frames ,engines, subframe, swingarm, clamps, almost everythibng is the same on the ktm and husaberg 300.

Its the same bike, the husaberg just has a few better bits on it, forks etc.

It is just the same with some better bits on it. BUT it is a whole bunch cooler than the KTM . I have done 6 hours on my te300 and the 450 will gather dust for many more for now.
