My 650 only has 104 at the rear wheel? Did you change the muffler ball bearings to roller bearings to get these hp numbers?

Dear Ronald,

I understand if you feel upset. Like in many other so called communities, and in the words of Peter Gabriel: Some people try to make themselves strong by excluding others.

Don't let that put you off - albeit, I know it is a hard pill to swallow.

Fellow husabergers: When on earth can a new interested person (member is the wrong word) join this forum without any abuse and piss-taking?

No names mentioned, but certainly after lurking for a long long time, there are some people posting here who are just detrimental to the cause. No need to remind anyone what that might be.

And the so called "DOC"...without citing passages, it is in its current form a completely useless document. Why? It is out of date. It only concentrates on some obscure old bike model, not owned by anyone anymore (except perhaps the so called author). The grammar (or lack thereof) is so appalling that anyone with half a wit would dismiss it as absolute rubbish. And then someone would say "ah, I got too technical for you, did I?". No you didn't mate. You are like any common grease-monkey, trying to conceal obvious "secrets" (that anyone with half a brain can find out on his own) in order to plug your own merchandise.

Sorry all who are reading this if I come across as crossed, but enough is enough.

Ban me if you wish.

br,
Ingemar In HKG

And NO - my signature does not attach, because I own too many bikes so the system couldn't cope ! But for those who care, yes I do ride - several - Husaberg motorcycles and will continue to do so, with or without abuse from this forum (not to me, mark my words, but count all the others who got pissed off and left and perhaps you will get my meaning).

Ingemar, In that I know Ned personally I do not believe his intention was to abuse or piss on Ronald. I think he was injecting a little humor , knowing full well that some one would come on with the correct information. As I have said before the problem with computers is that they have no ability to convey the tone and inflection in ones voice, why is it that we feel the need to assume that all comments are meant to be detrimental or a slight against another member ? I guess I must apologize for my warped sense of humor, I got a laugh out of the first few posts in this thread. In the words of Rodney King "can't we all just get along ?" There are a lot of guys on here that are fine motorcycle technicians to refer to them as comon grease monkeys is an insult. My $.02

first of all i didn't give the wrong info nor would i
secondly, we never slag here for poor grammer regardless
thirdly, do better or shut up, again, unless your prepared to do it yourself shut up.
fourthly, it's out of date coz nobody wants to work on it - BTW, anyone is welcome to "add" to it.
fifth-ly - your contibution has been zero here so who are you to talk
sixth-ly, it wasn't abusive it was pullinbg his leg without the clause at the end that spells out that it was a joke
seventhly, all i keep to myself is what i have learnt off my back since i started my business and that is about the DVSK. everything else i know about husabergs is in the doc so no, you ******, i don't have trade secrets.
eightth-lylyly, loading your dribble with stuff about obsolete crap will do you no good here.

Dear Stoveguy,

I wasn't pin-pointing anyones particular posts by any particular person. I was just reflecting on the general "ambiance" of this forum, when - as it so often seems to happen - a so called newbie comes along with a simple question, and is met by less than a welcome.

Don't get me wrong: The opposite does also happen, when the so called community at large welcomes someone with open arms.

I just think that the sour grapes should be encouraged to go make their vinegar somewhere else...

br,
IL

The lighter side of HP

Personally I think I'd prefer Ketchup to HP on Swedish dishes myself. Relax folks.

Welcome aboard new guy and I do not know any organization in the world that doesn't haze a new member, from schools to the armed forces it's SOP.

Guy dynoed his stock brand new 2006 FS650 here and came up with 54 ponies on the rear wheel at sea level on an almost standard day. (standard temps and pressures) and that was better than any other bike that day including modified CR500 and XR650R's.

and then you have the audacity above to pretend it's not aimed at anyone!

you are a scumbag

doubt if you come from ting tong anyway.

get your facts right first, then you can have a go at people. if your going to villify people make sure you get your facts right!

do you really want the newbie who is trying to decide if he should buy a bike or not modify a document about said bike when he actually has no knowledge? I read the owners doc, it answered alot of questions, but still left some glaring ones that had me scratching my head, i decided not to bother asking those questions bc from my search i knew the first response would be to read the owners doc! If i knew what the heck i was doing i would have certainly added info, but alas asking people who don't know what they are doing to contribute in a way that requires that knowledge is a foolish game...

ok, ok  my wife gets on me all the time for my "sarcastic sense of humor"
it just brought a flashback to the days when i was a dealer and would get get questions about hp, powerband and top speed of a dirt bike. for a trained smartass like me those questions are just too easy to not pick on.
the true answer to the original question, since there are too many variables to answer technically is: WAY TOO MUCH FOR THE AVERAGE RIDER.

The answer to the original question I have wondered about my self. But after taking the piss on a few super sports bikes on the streets of my city my final answer is:

ENOUGH, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

I'm not taking the piss here, it's a serious answer.

Ned, why did you copy my answer.... or was it the other way around, Must practice on the keybord me !!

Taffy, why is it always you that end up in these online discussions ??? Have you thought about that.

There is a Danish saying: "The one that works the most, makes the most mistakes".... Something similar in UK ??? I am not sure if this saying explains it all though.....?.....?..................

Can i add 2 cents worth even though i'm from blighty?

I think the smiley made it obvious the there was no malice in the answer (some arent so obvious), just one of those questions that encourages the odd bit of fun before someone who knows the answer posts it.

As for the Docs, maybe i'm riding an out of date Berg (02 ??!!) but i've found it really bloody helpful and if you can't find what your looking for in the doc just ask and you'll get pointed in the right direction....... 8)

cheers all
