I want to shorten my shiny new Ti silencer. It would look much better if it was about 3" shorter.

I've never had one apart so not sure how they are constructed. Is it as simple as drilling out the rivets on the end cap and cutting it with a band saw then riveting the end cap back on?

Who has done it?

Thanks,

Mike

not sure if its worth doing for the looks, 3" will surely make the power delivery different maybe even stuff it right up.

but yes you could do that easy to an akrapovic I have one apart in my shed. would just need to re-flare the end of the perforated tube a little.

Interesting Bushie... I didn't think it would make much difference in performance. I certainly don't want to decrease the power output so I guess I'll leave it as is.

Thanks,

Mike

Interesting im considering buying a akrapovic full system, the titanium one, and its shortend. Apparently the racer that had it before the current owner shortend it for some reason.

Would guess he did it to match the engine in the race bike that probably has alot more power then my stock 650. Wonder if it will affect the performance on my stock bike ?

like this!!!!

This was on a YZF250, it ended up making the bike a little louder, but it also seemed to give a bit of a boost to the low end  but mayb that was just cause it was louder!
