well i got reminded today of the dangers of too many electrical gadgets running off one socket.
normally the power to shed runs an electric fence, battey charger, radio and 2 strip lights quite happily
today i also plugged in 2 fan heaters as it was about -2 in the shed and did fancy working in my thermals, but didnt think about unplugging any of the others.
anyway just finished what i was doing and the power goes off, which is normally the code for "there's a brew in the kitchen for you", walked into the utility room notice its full of smoke. 8O
turned out the draw was enough to melt the extension lead that i had running to the shed. oh well. it was a that point i also remembered that you should completly unwind extension leads when using them with a heavy draw.
no harm done, just.
