Long story short, I installed the orangeberg waterpump fix it kit, everything seemed to go alright, ran her and everything was good, a few days later I was messing with the clutch and while putting the side cover back on, I heard the kick lever spring let loose and had to open her up again, I FINALLY was able to get a few minutes together to settle down and get her all put back together and when filling her up with coolant again, i put the requisite 1 liter in and thought "where the hell is it all going? it should be showing at the top of the radiator by now, looked at the oil sight glass and instead of oil (I had not put any back in yet) I had a nice level of coolant showing up.

I immediately drained it, (fortunately I had not run it) but I know I double Checked the little "O" ring on the coolant inlet into the engine before placing the side cover, but where else could it come from and drain into the crank case so quickly?

when I figure it out, should i just run a gallon of delo through it to flush the bottom of the case out?

I would think it has to be a problem with the O-ring on the clutch cover. I can usually reuse the o-ring, but yours may have given up.

Are you ure the kickstarter shaft is installed properly. If it is not seated properly, the cover will not seal.

the 'O' ring can sit on the paper gasket. that's all it needs - infact that's all it can be!

Everyone has given the right answer, however if the o-rings on the cylinder liner are

k-poot then you cold have the same issue, just to clarify!

hi boss

hope you're well!

i think he only took the sidecover off bud so that's why i didn't figure that as a potential problem?

kind regards

OH MY GOD, I AM GOING TO FREAKING PULL WHATS LEFT OF MY HAIR

OH MY GOD, I AM GOING TO FREAKING PULL WHATS LEFT OF MY HAIR OUT!

I have had this damn side cover off so many times it is insane, every time I put the damn cover back on the kick start mech springs loose and I have to start all over again... what the hell am i doing wrong! I set it up correctly and try it out, put the clutch back in try the lever out again, get the side cover on, put the water pump back together, and dammit the lever is locked up AGAIN. so i take apart the water pump, pull the cover, pull the clutch, reset the kick start mechanism, and go through the whole routine again

I am a patient guy, and i like tinkering, but there has got to be a trick to this? I never had this issue before and i have had the cover off plenty of times, installing and adjusting the rekluse, fixing pump seals on this and other bergs... what the hell am i doing wrong?

you are going CW with the kickstart lever? you need to tension the spring CW so that it wants to ping ACW (USA = CCW). also you need to press down the shaft so that the back of the key hole's bed (in the shaft) is sat halfway on the crescent.
