Hello All,

I removed the white plastic tail piece on my 2009 570 this weekend as part of a thwarted effort to fit a new end can (it didn't fit :( ) and so was able to inspect the rear plastic subframe . I noticed that there is a hole in mine (picture attached). The hole looks like a manufacturing fault.

This is not a big deal for me since I plan to order a 70degrees replacement subframe fuel tank (thanks to DaleO) but there may be owners who are considering converting their subframe to an auxiliary tank. If you are, then perhaps it would be a good idea to thoroughly inspect your subframe for holes before you commit to such a project?

Cheers

I converted the subframe in an watertank, trust me there are more holes if you deassemble the whole (sub)frame :(

i'd recommend Dale's subframe tank for gas, for some water use the DIY option.
