Help with stator

Need some help with a stator rewind. I recently picked up a 2000 fe400e that is not running. The bike has a few issues, one being it has a bad stator. I would like to get a rewind or a used stator at a reasonable price so I can get the bike running. My intentions are get the bike running then evaluate the motor and make a decision as to continue with the bike or part it out.
Externally the bike is in good shape and the I feel there is more life left in this berg. I really don't want to part this bike out if I don't have to, so does anyone knows were I can get a stator rewound in the states or buy a used one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

where in na? i have a stator from an 02 650 that you could try so you can evaluate the bike. was it craig from camp verde's bike?

I'm up in flag! just got home from riding up on the peaks. Ya, I think it was craigs bike from camp verde, do you know craig? Do you know the history on this bike? I would really appreciate some info on this bike.I rescued the bike from a guy in bullhead city. The bike is complete with all the parts, but I just need a stator to get it running so I can evaluate the motor then make a decision as to what I want to do. I feel that the bike has potential and has plenty of life left in it.

i almost bought that bike a couple(?) of years ago, but when i called the guy was there picking it up. i ride with craig every now and then, good guy. only problems he said he had was a starting issue. prolly the stator going bad. if you bring it down, we can see if the 650 stator will work on it. pm me your #
