Hey guys.
i put the bike away for winter now and finally have time to setup the suspension properly. guess i would have had time in the summer, had i been able to stay off the thing!
anyways, my 07 FS 650E has a shock spring 88-250 and im assuming the fork springs are also standard (4.6Nmm).
its my understanding that if you have the correct springs then when you set your static sag, your race sag will be right on too.
with the fork i have the static sag at 18mm (20mm +/-2mm is spec. that i've read). the race sag however is only at 61mm (spec is 85-95mm)
the shock has a static sag of 21mm (again, 20mm +/-2mm) with a race sag of only 66.5mm (again 85-95mm spec.)
i weigh about 95Kg, so i am not light. it seems weird to me that i have to buy softer springs. or am i reading my data wrong?
if i was to keep running this setup, should i set my race sag right on, and have the static sag out or vice-versa?
this bike is primarily a street bike but i went to my first track day at the end of this season and loved it, so im pretty well hooked. should i really invest in new springs?
any other comments?
Thanks guys!
