I have got a 99’ FE 600 with a 95’ prototype engine. I have had an oil leak on the right side of my engine for some time. The leak first locked like it was the seal ring around the crankshaft inside the ignition. After having changed this seal ring twice the engine still leaks oil from the same area. This afternoon I opened the ignition cover and opened the ignition to have a look at the problem. To my surprise it seams that the leak is not coming from the seal ring around the crankshaft but from the lower fitting hole of the screws holding the stator. I am not sure if this has been the problem the whole time or if this became the problem after the first seal ring change. The first time I opened the ignition all tree stator screws were loos and were bent after having had contact with the flywheel. The threads were damaged and I had to make new threads and buy new screws to fasten the stator.
Now it seams that the oil leak is coming from one lowest of these holes. Can I have damaged the crankcase when I was fixing the treads? Or can the problem have been caused by something else?
Does anyone of you have a solution to this problem?
