so cal.
so I am out riding this week end and all of a sudden I hear a noise like A loose cam chain so I stoped and looked the bike over nothing seamed to look wrong so I restarted it and no noise so off we go about 2 miles down the trail and it just shuts off like I swiched it off so I checked all the fuses and conections under the seat all good so I let it cool down and pull the plug out to see if it had spark and it dose and smelles like it is geting gas but still will not start so then I pulled off the air cleaner and put my hand over the intake and it seams to be blowing back out is this normal?

Oh and it was 17 miles of single track to tow it out then 6 miles of pavment back to the truck

I am not familiar with your bike as i have never riden or worked on one, feeling lighter air pulses or hearing air would be normal but to feel air blowing out in hard pulses or backfiring out the intake i am sure would not be normal.. if its backfiring out the intake could be an indication of an out of time engine, do these have a hydraulic timing chain tensioner? i have seen auto engines have a hydraulic tensioner that only hold tight at a higher rpm and make noise and/or run "off" or be a completely intermittant noise problem, also a bad valve could make it backfire or blow air out intake or exhuast but some air pulse/sound is normal and like i said i know nothing about your bike just an idea...good luck

no back fire hell no fire at all and more than just a light puff

mine did a similar thing just died like u hit a kill switch turned out to be the iinjector and spoke to the local shop theyve had a few come in with blocked injecrtors

If the bike is pushing air out the intake while its turning over its possible one of the intake valves is bent/broken you shouldnt get air pushing out the intake but if its backfiring could be something else

Ok hear gos I got it back last Friday and was told it was a bad wire on the pick up strang but not all that uncommon on a KTM but was told the first one they have ever seen on a Berg so I go riding up in the local moutains and what do you think happons 3 miles and it just shuts off :cuss: so I am droping back off Monday I'm thinking lemmon law hear I just want a F ing bike that runs dos any body have a contact number and name in the western US that I can talk to I just do not trust the bike anymore and want it replaced hell it only has 50 hours on it
