Just bought a 04 fe450 with 830km/ 13.5hrs on it.Went for my first ride. The clutch is dragging slightly Will not go into neutral from first or second with bike running No problem when bike is shut down. Is this normal?? Clutch lever is ajusted to slackest postion.

Have you tried adjusting the clutch up? That would be the first thing I would try. Then I would bleed the clutch system very well and then see what you've got.

If it still drags, your steel plates could be a bit warpped. easy to replace.

I have never had a problem getting my 04 550 into neutral sitting still with the engine running unless the steels were warpped. Sometimes a quick blip of the throttle is needed though.

And getting them into neutral with the engine running is not always easy at the best of times. If the clutch is dragging you can test it, bike in first and clutch in, does it want to move?

as already mentioned: Getting in neutral when engine is running and bike is parked is very hard.

I think the easiest way to get into neutral is while the bike is still moving very slow - then neutral " flushes" in.
On the other hand it is almost impossible to miss a gear and shift unwanted into neutral on a berg.
I actually love this on my berg.

One questions: is the 830km/ 13.5hrs correct? Because average-speed would be amazing fast (at least for me)

830KM divided by 13.5 = 61.5KM 0r 38.5mph average The guy I bought it off lived in the praires and only road gravel roads at higher speeds

My GasGas280 has the same problems with finding neutral when running. Thought this might be the same. Just wanted to confirm it
