Just wanted to say hello. My first post.

I bought a 2004 Husaberg FE450 today. Never had an offroad bike before.

Quick question. Does anyone know the model of battery. I think this one has been stood too long and the battery is shot. Kickstarts fine.

Hello and welcome.
Check the owners docs for the battery. Go easy on the bike. I know of a guy who got his dirt bike desire scared out of him on a 450.

Thanks. Myself and a mate want to have a go at green laning initially. After a few months once I'm more familiar and comfortable on the bike I'd like to try a bit of enduro/motocross at some local tracks.

Do you think a 450 is too much bike to begin with?? A little late for me now.

I'm 6'3" and 19.5 stone so wasn't sure if a 250 would be a little stressed carting me around.

welcome! if the bike feels a bit too wild it might be worth looking at a g2 throttle tamer. it will make the bike a lot more docile at smaller throttle openings. if it's been rejetted and an aftermarket pipe fitted, you could always go back to the standard jets and pipe if the bike came with them?

I think the bike is completely standard.
I won't get to use it fully until Saturday 8th as I'm on holiday this week.

Got a few green lanes to try in my area. Need to learn the bike a little as I've only ridden it 30metres so far
