I am new to husabergs, I just bought a 2008 FE650.I would like to add some flywheel weight to smooth the motor out and make it easier for me to lug the motor. Has anyone found anything that would work? any advice?

A change of gearing perhaps ? If you can be more specific as to the reasons you wish to lug your motor then maybe some more members will chip in. :D

a 105mm piston makes lugging pretty easy :D

porting the head, unshrouding the valves, matching the carb and head to the intake boots and tidying up the welds in the headers and also the 2 into 1 junction at the mid section all make the engine smoother. you can also mod the muffler to be nearly straight through

the kibblewhite KTM RFS dual valve springs (#96-96000) make a noticeable difference just off idle but not in the same way a heavier flywheel feels. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11115&hilit=valve+kit

they also do oversize valves +1mm and lighter same P#n as the ktm RFS 525 engine

I tried a "tourque" cam (lineweaver LX2 copy) it made the delivery of the engine smoother (no lump) but moved everything down in the rev range 3-4 Hp less peak power and didn't make any more peak tourque. the KTM "equivalent" is the OEM 8/06

i tried a KTM RFS hotcams 3015 it also smoothed out the lump but made the bottom end very fluffy, main increase was at high rpm.

the KTM 8/33 was between the 2, I would like to try a thumperracing stage 5 KTM cam, their stage 4 is like the old 8/07 or LX-1 or its copy the "race" cam

I found removing the automatic decompression assy made the bike less prone to stalling

Ive played around with a heavier crank .. a side effect of re balancing .. it didn't really do much.

so ..... do you want to smooth out the delivery, have more torque just above idle, less stalling in slow going or do you mostly want to be able to open the throttle more at low rpm in a high gear without the engine grumbling?

gearing is important, being in the right gear and lugging just the right amount is OK but when it is the only gear left (first) etc then it isn't good. try to gear down to something like 14 x 48 at the highest on a dirt bike. 13/48 is sweet.

you can also re-jet the bike, it can be made crisper and less likely to stall or need clutching etc. I do a jetting kit.
