Does anyone else have an issue with the seal or sizing between the header pipe fitting into the mid pipe section?

The top of the 2 header pipes, seems quite a bit smaller than the midpipe I.D.
Thus it leaks alot. I have tried removing the pipes, cleaning and using an exhaust cement, but this only lasted a while until the vibration took it apart.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

i had an '04 450 (the blackberg) that fitment was really bad. hi temp sealant was only a temp sol'n as you said. all my other berg weren't too bad.
it seems some were just a bad match.

Im debating heating the header pipe up, and using a pipe expander i have to enlarge is just slightly. Hopefully this will seal it up.

Same experience as Ned, have had bad ones and some that weren't too bad. Hard to say any of them have been "good" but it's the slip fit nature of metal on metal with an exhaust gasket or something the narrow the tolerances. Know a good pipe fitter at an exhaust shop? May be able to form the fit better than it currently is.

I still don't know which bike he's complaining about....
