i read somewher that husey were fitting a better bend taper bar? but i can't remember where i saw that someone like it better?

the parts book says that all bikes have had the same bars since 1997?

someone help here? someone got the '05 and had other models-notice a difference?

i dont have the link info you are looking for.
i like the 'cr hi' and the 'kx hi' for my berg.
i felt the stock bars are too low and swept back.
i dont cut mine shorter but i would guess you would.

Gidday Taff, long time no hear? Mate I have the 04/550 but it came with the 05 up date kit which includes new h/bars. However the bars on my 550 are a very high bend, they are excellent but you can visibly see the height difference with other bikes when they are side by side. Hope this helps mate?

Hi Taffy

I have a 00 and a 04 and haven't noticed any difference between the bikes with the bars. The 04 steers quicker than the 00 but this is not because of bars. I will take a closer look and let you know.

truly good to hear from you agaian as you are like me-a genuine tryer!
you have confirmed what i thought and that is that there are new bars for ther '05 model. i can only download up to '04 from the husaberg.se web site.

would you describe the difference twixt the two please scully? taller by how much? and?

they have brought in the rake of the machines from (and including the '04s) onwards. that has brought the front wheel over 1.5" closer to the engine bascally. that's why you can feel the bike steering quicker.

try the 1" off. it's definately better for woods and 'nadgery' stuff.

H/Bars

Taff I can tell you that when I first got the 05 up date kit I put the 05 bars up against the 04 bars fitted to the bike and the 05's sweep back and up more and appear slightly higher aswell (aprox 4/5 mm's) Do you really want me to unpack them again and check for you or is this enough info? My bike feels like it steers quicker than my 02 but harder to turn into corners????? Sounds strange I know but maybe the extra 50 cc's causes this? I also think it is more nervous in the front end and I get alot of deflection. And after riding my brothers KTM 400 fitted with a s/dampner I WANT one!! If I get one I will raise the forks thru the triple clamps aprox 4 mm to help it turn in and it will be just about perfect!! I love it except for the deflection, the power is so smooth and torquey.

Taff, the 05 bars make your elbows go out and up - simple as that 8)
