I`m after some wrap around type hand guards for my Husaberg, anyone got any suggestions, i`ve heard Cycra are not too bad.

brookester,

What I did and was very happy with is: Buy yourself a pair of the Moose brand aluminum hand guards (bark busters) and install on your bike as described. Then, with your OEM handguards, drill two holes into the plastic and place over the aluminum. The mounting fins of the stock husaberg handguards can be trimmed a little but they will fit exactly over the aluminum and screw in place with two short self tapping screws. Looks trick, works great! Remember to put locktite on all screws to prevent from backing out. Hope this is a good alternative that tickles your fancy.

I have Enduro Engineering handguards and have had not complaints. I ride tight woods trails with a little mx thrown in and have never had an issue with them.

Hey Brookester,

I forgot to tell you that the plastics on my handguards are Cycra if that makes any difference. You can see them pretty good in my gallery pics.

Thanks for the replies, went for a set of Enduro Engineering from Eurotech. Very strong with replacement deflectors and easy to fit (cheers gruntunberg).

just my opinion and nothing else but i wouldnt use the aluminium wrap arounds.reason being that i hit a tree stump(hidden in the grass)while racing, flat out in 4th.this pushed the bars out of my hands and my hands went between bars and plastic wrap arounds.while flying i managed to pull one arm out but left arm still stuck as we touched down.the resulting cartwheel seemed to last forever but when we stopped with me on the bottom i was sure my arm would be broken .it wasnt but you wouldnt believe the shape my arm and handguard were in.it was like a reef knot around the bars.i think that had i used aluminium guards with less give in them i would have been in big trouble.the plastic ones do what you need them to do but will break before you do.as i say just my opinion.

That story really does put stock to the term of reference "wrist breakers" as used by the majority of off-road riders I know

I have removed mine and now use the original plastic brush guards for trail riding and none at all for supermoto. In any case I always found them more hassle than they were worth in SM after a crash.

But, I understand other people like them soooo, I have recently found that in my garage, I actually have one set of Enduro engineering hand guards (the plastic bits still in their packaging and 2 sets of the Acerbis handguards. I also have an unsused fitting kit for them.

All have seen some action and some tarmac but they would still be fine for anyone to use.

If anyone's interested let me know - I'm sure we could come to a very agreeable price for them

Cheers,
Simon
