An '08 FE550, ABSOLUTELY mint condition! Only done 6.7 hours/140 miles and saved over £700 on the already reduced retail price.

All I've got to do now is sell my old berg.

Cant wait to race it

(Thanks to Philis for pointing it out, nice one!)

Nice job Steve. You made quick work on that one. Still looking for an 07 plated 550 here in Ca.

congrats! perhaps the best Berg ever made. Mine is goning to hit the 1000 hour mark soon. With only normal wear and tear apart from a balancer bearing failure once.

Cheers,
Adriaan

Think it had only been up for sale since Fri/Sat, didn't notice it until I came on here Saturday night and was linked by Philis.

It was £3295 to be exact, absolute bargain, looked good in the pics but when I got there was even better. There's not a mark on it, it's just not been anywhere. Never been on the road(but is road reg), just vanned to a local trail. The guy got it from Trevor Pope in April for 4k, they wanted to buy it back off him for 3k!

It's from Portsmouth so a bit of a journey, 400 mile round trip and got to do it again on Saturday to pick it up! :) The bike was actually on a Naval base there, the guy was a Chief Petty Officer and has been away a lot. He's getting deployed to Iraq in a few weeks, and then Afganistan so needs a quick sale. He's also got a lot of other toys- 6 bikes, mk1 golf, truck, lancia rally car etc so needs to get rid of some of them. Fell off his Ducati and broke his wrist also, so can't see himself going back on this.

The Berg has just been sat around pretty much from when he bought it new. He's a really sound guy actually, knows his stuff and it's been well looked after. When I saw it I knew it'd be snapped up within a day or two so had to get in there fast. He showed me the texts and emails etc from people interested, must of been about 20 lol, even a guy from Germany working in London was enquiring.

There's a couple of things I'm wondering though that I haven't had chance to check yet. I'm keeping my supermoto wheels from my '04, they are standard Husaberg Behr wheels (silver ones, not the older blue). Will they fit onto the '08?

Also where can I get a full set of identical spare plastics from (for enduros)?

Want a blue supermoto front fender to match, would this have to be from an '06?

Cheers

Yes, your old wheels will mount right up.

Nice one steve, You made short work of snapping that ***** up.
That really is UNBELIVABLE value. Wish id hung on a while before buying mine.
Makes buying an 09 berg seem really quite expensive in comparrison.

If these things get any cheaper im going to snap one up for spares.

Yeah I almost couldn't believe it myself when I saw it. The advert said 'ono', but after checking it over and speaking to the bloke, I didn't even bother offering any less for it (I usually do)- considering the amount of interest from people I thought I'd just get the deal done quick as it was already a complete bargain!

Can't wait to pick it up this weekend :)

God yeah, half the price of an '09!

that tax disc has got to be moved NOW!!!!

plastics, easily the cheapest way is a used set off the flea bay. if you want new i would go to trevor, nobody does it aftermarket. the postage on that would see me on monthly instalments so he's welcome LOL!!!!

Nice one Steve, what a deal. Now, get Taffy to send you the CORRECT jetting, oh and move your horn or the rad mount bracket will snap off.

Yeah got my spare '04 ones from ebay, but there's not any on there for an '08 and defiantely want to stick with '08 ones as the bikes a minter.

I just want the rear fender, front fender, and tank guards, I'll contact them and Midwest, see who can do it cheaper.

Cheers

Cheers matey, I originally thought I couldn't make any Tbec events until March/April time because I'm a bit short of money for a while after buying this. But now my girlfriend has said that she'll pay for my Tbec membership and acu licence as an early birthday present because it's not far off you see. So looks like I will be at Rendlesham after all! :D

Just filling out the forms now ready to post tomorrow. What are the chance's of getting the acu back in time for Rendlesham? Got just under 3 weeks now. :?

ACU licence isn't as problem because as a last resort you can get a day licence for £10. Dont wish this to sound funny but if needs be i will pay it for you, it would be a shame to miss it for the sake of a tenner. i know cashflow can be a nightmare. hopefully see you there. sent off for mine a week ago and still waiting. you have to join a club before you join the acu. so what people normlly do is send all the acu paperwork to the secretary of the club when joinig them. with handfuls coming through the door the secretary will forward them for the greater good of all the members to acu house.

good system...

Sometimes they will let you off if its 'in the post' and you contact ACU to let them know its on its way the day or so prior to the meeting

Thanks very much for the offer Dave, that's very decent of you! but I should just about cover it I think. That's what I like about Tbec, riders helping each other and people are genuine and friendly.

How are you finding the BMW? I saw a couple of them at Chatteris in December, one of them was absolutely flying! Thought I was going fast down those back straights, until it flew past me lol

Yeah all the forms are going to the club so hopefully will be a bit quicker. Looking forward to Rendlesham, missed it last time because my grandad died. The track looks just up my street, like the sound of 'gravel pits & the occassional pipe line' in the description!

See ya there

Got my ACU forms through today so I'm all set for this weekend, cant't wait! Just bought some new smaller 4" numbers instead of my old 6" ones as I wanted to retain the original look of the decals. Think it looks pretty smart-

Just hope there not too small, they are 4" so that's ok, but hope the yellow surround isn't too small. I used the same yellow square not covering the whole panel on my previous berg and that was fine, but these are about 1/4 smaller though.

Got rid of the tax disc from the rad panel and re-locatedn the horn- tucked nicely away behind the head light cowling. Also switched the fuel tap round, as someone had fitted it the wrong way round????? Whats the deal with the other tap that screws up and down, whats the reason for using that and not just a normal fuel tap?

Nicked the fuel breather and cap of my old berg and put it on this to add a bit more bling 8)

Who here uses bash plates because I was told by two Husaberg dealers that you shouldn't use them because they restrict the amount of air to cool down vital areas of the engine????? They actually took the bashplate off on my previous berg and I never used it. Sounds like rubbish to me.....

Anyway this new ones got one on- made oil changing a bit harder, but still easy.

they're not too small but the lap scorer has the right to ignore you if she can't make out the numbers.....

they are all volunteers and women and that means they're members of "the untouchables". 2 laps in 6 hours MEANS 2 LAPS IN 6 HOURS.
