Story so far... coolant hose split. While doing 70mph. Things got VERY hot. :hot: Fuel line melted. Lost fuel pressure. Engine stopped working.

The result: see here.

At a minimum, I'm almost certainly going to need a new head (and all associated parts, valves, guides, springs, etc) - it got REALLY hot and one valve impacted the piston, so that likely means a new piston too. Also will need a new cam chain & all associated bits. Most of the debris in the oil was from the melted cam chain tensioner & plastic parts. Possibly need a rod - won't know about the bottom end until we can split the case.

Also needed - does anyone know where I can get a primary gear puller and a case/crank puller for the 570 motor? With Husaberg disappearing, these tools seem to be hard to come by. :help:

My mechanic/shop is asking for the primary gear puller and/or crank puller so that he can split the case and check the gears/gearbox to see what (if any) damage the gearbox suffered. With all that melted and shredded plastic debris floating around I don't want to leave some bits to clog up a bearing somewhere and repeat the mess again.

Ouch ! Furthermore phaaaaaark. Primary gear extractor 75029021000 is perculiar the the 09-12 bikes. If you can find an aftermarket alternative good luck to you, can you share with us the thread pitch and diameter of the extractor ?

Crank puller not required as it rides on cylindrical roller bearings.

Thanks for the part number. If I do go aftermarket (assuming I can find one), I'll post info here. It looks like I can simply order that part number - so that's likely the quickest option.

To me almost looks like be cheaper to get a whole new assembled engine...

Maybe... anyone know where I can source one from? :help:
