Here is a photo of the Hussy all loaded and ready to go. Yeah, she's put on a few pounds, but she's great at what she does. We were 200 miles out and camped at 6500 feet near a beautiful mountain lake by the early afternoon.

The skid plate/tank keeps the low fuel light off until 200 mailes have passed beneath your tires too. That leaves you 50 miles to find a place to refuel, I'm pretty happy with the range now.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the picture.

Hi,

Love the tank and seat. Do you have any info regarding where and how it fitted. I am adventurising my fe570 and would appreciate any detail.

The tank is my own design. I posted about my build on here and if you toggle forward and back on the Photobucket arrows you can see more photos showing how it was done. I've seen nothing even remotely resembling the tank out there, so you'll have to build your own is it's what you want. I have around $400 in the tank/skid plate in supplies and paying for welding. If you can weld aluminum yourself, you'll have half that into building one like it.

The seat is by Seat Concepts, and I really like it.

Hi again,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have a friend who can do aluminiun welding and will show him your pictures. Where did you source the petrol cap and neck to the tank? Can you tell me the purpose of the red bottle on the side of the tank-is it oil.
The seat looks great -is it comfortable!
I am also having a go at converting the subframe to a tank -I have tested for leaks and only have one. I will plastic weld the leak and add an inlet and outlet and am quite confident it will work. Plastic welding is really very practical.

Yes, the red tank is engine oil. I sourced the fuel filler from an aircraft supply place and the fitting bungs from a dune buggy supply place. Yes, the seat is comfortable. Cyclebuy out of Oregon has the 70same Degree sub frame tanks in stock. Just in case you are interested in buying one instead of trying to convert your subframe.
