I have just changed gearing from 14 x 48 to 15 x 48 and find it a little tall. Can you place a 49 on the back without modifying the chain guide as it looks close with the 48?
Thanks for the help,

hi mark

done that one!

ok, look at the bottom chain safety guide ( i think this is what you meant right?) and you can pivot it off the back allen screw and at the front re drill the bracket so that it hangs lower down.

i did mine about 8-10mm lower and it works a treat. chain wear through the guide is just about equal and i've had the same rubber for about 4-5 seasons now.

i run 14/51 so....

I have a `04 450 and have just discovered it has two holes so as to drop the guide for larger sprocket. Wish I had found this earlier `cos the guide is badly worn and in need of replacement :?

Bill :D

To low most of the time

It is only off by a very little so one tooth would be fine but not sure if you can use a 49 without modifying? I thought someone would have tryed this by now.
Thanks,
