Hi all
I have a very slow oil leak from my gear selector shaft, where it pops out from the left side engine case. As far as I know its a simple o-ring fix and most bergs do it to a certain degree anyway, but mine is beginning to get worse. Im going to tackle it before it completely lets go and turns into a fast leak. (Damn that synthetic oil isnt cheap! )
So my question is, while I have the side case off is there anything else I can do? its current timing chain went in at 10500ks, the same time it had a full rebuild with a rod kit, bearings, new sleeve and a new piston. All the other easy stuff went with it, head freshen up, new spark plug, clearances ect.
I got the bike at 14400ks and Im now at 15600, with the majority of my kms being fairly tame around town ones (in the process of getting a new car, it kills me to rack up the ks like I am), with a few short blasts up the mountains. New filter went in at 15000 and Ive done the oil 4 times.
Should I order a timing chain? what else guys? Anything I can do to keep it running for as long as possible (and prevent the inevitable husabang).
Thanks all, this website has helped me so much already.
